If you had read this post you will know that my grandma’s health has not been pretty good lately.
Last Saturday, we brought grandma to Assunta Hospital for a thorough checkup. She had a CT scan done. Doctor confirmed that grandma is going through a mild stroke. There’s a rupture at her lower left brain. At that moment, my world came tumbling down but I tried to be strong.
I felt so stupid you know… for not being sensitive about this issue. She is having a stroke and yet nobody realised it. Thank God it’s not too late. Her left hand numbness is still there. She also has some numbness at the left back (near backside) and at the sole of her left foot. She is doing some light exercise on her legs and fingers from time to time. I believe it will take some times to heal or maybe the numbness feeling will never fully recover. I don’t know.
A few weeks back grandma had a full body checkup and that day the doctor told us that her checkup results came up all fine except that she has a very high cholesterol level. Doctor advised her to reduce intake of oily and salty food. Eat more veggie and fruits.
We will see the doctor again in 2 weeks time.
Grandma is a strong woman. She had endured many hardships during her younger days and had managed to fight them all. Right now, the best medicine for her is the medicine provided by the doctor and our love and support.
Anyone who had gone/are going through this ordeal, please share your story with all of us.
p/s: Thanks Kleio. Many hugs.

my paternal grandma died of cancer, coupled with diabetes and high cholestrol and whatnots. she actually lived longer than the doctor said she would. i wished that she lived longer than my grandfather (who’s almost 100 and not dead yet) because i like my grandmother alot more than my grandfather.
i went thru some worrying times when my mom had cancer but she’s fine now. ur grandma is strong, she will come out ok! the force is strong in ur family!
I’ll continue to pray for her recovery.
You must take care of yourself, too.
Sorry to hear about that. Do read up from the net ‘cos there are lots of informative sites by the British and American Govt. Don’t trust those profits sites.
Sorry to hear that. Hope she gets well soon.
Sorry to hear that. Prayers and thoughts for your grandma … :praying:
 :praying:
So sorry to hear about your grandma’s condition, and mild stroke. From now on, you must make sure she does not fail to take her medication (especially the anti-hypertensives) because that will certainly bring about another stroke. Also, learn to recognize the signs of a stroke, such as slurring, drooping of the face, loss of the use of one side of the body, and apparently illogical actions (eg trying to switch on the lights using the wrong switch, etc), so that if the signs come, take her straight to a hospital (not to a clinic, because most clinics do not have the facilities to treat a stroke patient). Hope she recovers quickly, and my sympathies are with you.
:praying:
Hedonistics, yeah I understand how you feel. She is my favourite grandma and we are very close. I would not want anything to happen to her.
Wuching, thank you sith.
Jemima, thank you dear. I’m fine now.

It’s nice to share, no need to thank me. You are always welcome. Anytime
Yeah, one more thing, please don’t let your grandma get into any sort of stress or be too excited over stuff. It can be dangerous for folks who had a stroke before. This was told to my Mom-in-law by her doctor.
P/S: You are such a nice grandchild.
Kleio, thank you very much.
Ok dear. π I’m reading some stroke related site now.
