구르미 그린 달빛 Moonlight Drawn By Clouds (Korean Drama)

Moonlight Drawn by Clouds

Moonlight Drawn By Clouds is a coming of age fusion sageuk drama serving cute romance as its main dish, friendship and growing-up as the close banchan (sides) and political issues as the garnishes. Its success is a MAJOR MAJOR surprise to everyone! Who would have thought this historical drama helm by 5 main casts under the age of 25 can beat out its competitor (I’m sure you know who). Certainly not me.

Tsk: Moonlight Drawn By Clouds concluded a week plus ago and since then I’ve been having a tough withdrawal. Didn’t know I will be feeling this way. To calm my soul, I’ve been following their news from fan sign event to wrap party to their Cebu vacation and now reading their post-drama interviews. I know I need to finish this review to give it a good closure. Certainly my love for this drama will go on forever! (or until another good one replaces it)

함부로 애틋하게 Uncontrollably Fond (Korean Drama)

Uncontrollably Fond

Uncontrollably Fond is a melodrama first and foremost. That means there will be tonnes of heart-aching and brain-pulling moments. Remember that!!! I think many people forget this point and dive into this drama thinking it’ll be lovely-dovey on beds of roses without the thorns. How can you not think like that when it starred the tall and handsome Kim Woo Bin and nation’s first love, Suzy? My advice: dive into this melodrama without any expectation and you’ll be really okay.

When I first heard news about this pairing I was ecstatic *literally jumping with so much joy*. Now whose brainy idea was that to put them together? You are brilliant! Basically I’ve been waiting for Kim Woo Bin to play the leading man since School 2013. As for Suzy, I first saw her in Dream High and have been a fan. She’s so beautiful. 🙂

Master – God Of Noodles, Becky’s Back & Beautiful Mind

These three Korean dramas did good in feeding my entertainment needs for the past couple of months. Take note my mini reviews below contain spoiler.

Master – God Of Noodles
Master – God Of Noodles aka Master Of Revenge 마스터-국수의 신

I was looking forward to this revenge drama because my two favorites were in it; Chun Jung Myung and Lee Sang Yeob. This drama started off with numerous cold murders. It cringes me to the point that I realized the credit gotta be given to the actors, Baro who portrayed the young Kim Gil Do and Cho Jae Hyun as the older version. They are as if the same person to me. That cold STARE when scheming and during committing murder… gosh scary as hell man! I actually find Cho Jae Hyun/Kim Gil Do charismatic. Help me?!

태양의 후예 Descendants Of The Sun (Korean Drama)

Descendants Of The Sun

Descendants Of The Sun is a military-medical romance-melodrama that shook the Korean drama world recently in terms of ratings and popularity.

So have you watch Descendants Of The Sun (DOTS)? Are you a fan of Descendants Of The Sun?

Before we move on, just so you know that this post contains spoiler. So please don’t continue on if you have yet to watch DOTS. At the bottom of this post, I have set up a poll and Q&A session for DOTS fanatic (and non-fanatic).

Moorim, Splash Splash Love & One Sunny Day

Let’s talk Korean drama. I started 2016 with Moorim School and The Merchant: Gaekju 2015 (continuation from last year). Then Descendants Of The Sun came (I’ll blog about it when the show is/near over) and shook the earth with its popularity like no other Korean dramas has done before in this modern digital era where high ratings are almost impossible to achieve. Along the way I sneaked in two very short dramas. Here are my views on them:

Moorim School
Moorim School: Saga of the Brave 무림학교

Moorim is a school that teaches you about humanity and also fighting skills (they looked like a bunch of gangster when they fight hahaha). Well, that’s what I deduced after completing this drama. Yup, I completed it… with willing heart. 🙂 Lots of people complained about Moorim; storyline and the actors. Honestly, I find the story to be quite compelling. I learned some life lessons from this drama. As for the actors, they were mostly green and acting flaws were aplenty. I wasn’t really put-off by it. Take that as a learning curve my dear Moorim School’s casts. However, Lee Hyun Woo as a sunbae, your acting were quite lackluster. Please do better in your next drama.
