Chester

Bathing Ritual

Whenever Chester sees us carry his shampoo, brush and towel, he knows well enough that it’s Chang Chui Time!

We still play football before bath time. Only let him play during this hour because he’ll get very dirty. You know la after tackling, attacking, jumping, defending… doing all sorts of stunts with his David Beckham ball, I don’t think I want to hug him and let him in the house.

Bathing him is not that tiring. He used to be a handful. Still love to lick shampoo, still love to move here move there, still love to wriggle his wet body few centimeters away from me (can look at me as if nothing had happened)… argggh… but they’re getting lesser! And I’m not completely destroyed after this ‘water action’.

After bath, I will fence him up while I wash his toys. Let him stand under the sun to dry. Then will toweled dry him before letting him loose. Mostly he’ll stand in front of the gate waiting to be let in. By that time he’s only 10% dry.

I can tell you one thing, his fur will never be completely dry in 2 or 3 hours under hot sun or strong wind. When I’m in a good mood, not soaked up and all I’ll bring him for a walk. But that too will never dry his fur. So normally we just let him in the house.

Let him sleep with his wet body and a fan specially directed at him.

How long does it take for his fur dried out? About 5 hours.

**Hair dryer cannot work. Hahaha

Eh… He doesn’t get a cold with the fan blowing at home?

Snoopy and Rusty will be kept outside to dry. Snoopy will be leashed while Rusty will duduk in his “penjara”.

Snoopy doesn’t like to dry near the sun and will always make a lot of noise. Rusty is cool. Just sit in his cage and ZZZZZZZZ.

Lucky that both dogs furs are short. Doesn’t take too long for them to dry.

Neo, he doesn’t like blanket. Not even his bed!

Wuching, no problem. He’s a strong boy.

Angie Tan, no… so far ok. I don’t want to keep him outside too long coz he’ll sit on the porch floor. Dirty lo. I thought Snoopy like to sunbath?

Bath time with Chester sounds so easy. Ranger and Chase are the only two that will cooperate from going in to the shower stall, shampooing and drying. Cooper is the one who thinks we are sending him to the slaughter house! I do dry the three of them thoroughly and they automatically lay near the vent to dry off.

Dawn, aiyoo Cooper is so cute…slaughter house?!

My dad has no patience for anything else, but he actually has the patience to sit there for an hour blow drying his puppy and Persian cats after their baths. Luckily they’re all small sizes though, I can’t imagine him trying to blow dry a long haired golden retriever. lol

when we bath the dog, usually we just leash it to a plant then leave it under the sun for some time hehehee

Omg I don’t understand why dogs like to lick shampoo so much. Usually when I scrub Bobby’s front legs, he’ll automatically bend his head down to lick lick lick and it makes me so mad coz I use medicated shampoo on him and I’m scared he’ll get poisoned or something.

Chester is lucky he gets to blow dry in front of the fan. Bobby, if owner rajin, he gets to go for a walk after bath. If owner malas, just tie him to one spot to air dry.

Xin, but the dog will sit on the floor ma. I can’t do that coz Chester stay in the house.

Hedo, last time Chester also lick his medicated shampoo but ok lah everything ok. Maybe shampoo taste like sweet to them. πŸ˜€
