It will work as a precaution more than helping retrieve stolen dogs because I don't think all vets will be alerted about stolen dogs news. Even when I bring Chester for normal check-up they don't scan his body for the microchip # to verify he's who he is. And plus plenty of other reason as well. So sorry to hear about Mr. Brinkley.
