Sis and me brought Chester to Thomas Animal Clinic for his annual vaccination that monday. It was his 6th vaccination of his life. Hehehe…of course he didn’t squek or yelp. He was helpless because he wore a muzzle. So in goes the needle near his left buttock. He won’t be bathing for 10 days.
Then the vet recommended us to do blood test to screen his liver, heart and kidney(advisable to do blood test once a year). We agreed. This time the needle was inserted at his left hand. Ohhh Chester was so cool.
We waited 10 mins for the result. His heart and liver are OK but Chester need to trim down his protein intake because his Creatinine level (kidney) was at the high side. He got 1.44mg/dl while the maximum is at 1.60mg/dl.
I guess it was my fault. Chester’s kibbles brand is Innova Evo which contains a whopping 42% of protein. While the normal type of kibbles brand contains about 20% to 30% of protein. I didn’t know that too much protein can cause kidney failure. Hmmm..

hmm, interesting fact there. Do you often give your dog human food? I mean like, snacks, peanuts, etc. My dog seems to like our food very much. Whenever we have watermelon, we’ll give the dog the skin with a lil bit of content left, and she’ll wipe them clean, you know, until there’s only the green hard skin left =.=”

while you’re at it, why don’t you get chester neutered too! hehehe!
Alex Allied, I give him apple, banana, vegie like lettuce, carrot for him to munch(although they can’t digest vegie). That’s why most of the time I make the vegie into puree.
Yes not good to give human food especially from our table scrap food, corn meal(most dogs are alergic to it), chocolate(can kill them). But we can give them raw meat and vegie puree instead of kibbles. I think that’s called BARF.

]. Anyway don’t feed thm with our leftover … ’cause tht will make thm like a stray one.
