Argghhhhhh! I can’t watch Lost, Amazing Race, Alias, Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model, American Idol, Commonwealth Games and many more because somehow in some ‘mysterious way’ my area’s Astro reception had gone mad especially during the evening and night for the past 1 week.
Thank god I managed to watch all my favourite shows in last week’s Saturday afternoon repeats. What about this week ? Will I be that lucky ? I missed yesterday’s Lost. I even got up for the repeat at 2am this morning but there were still no reception. And the funny part is some channel eg. ch 902 we can see some ‘cacat’ digital graphics but at some channel eg. ch 17 there are no picture at all.
WooOOOoo what happened to Astro ? Is it all mainly due to the hazy, thickety clouds above ? There were no rain at all man! Astro reception is that weak ?? or is it because something fishy is going on at Astro ?
Kindly someone, enlighten me.
p/s: Astro is killing an avid idiot box’s fan slowly…

Well it works well enough for me.. something wrong with your decoder perhaps?
Jee, yeah maybe. ohh don’t tell me my decoder has brokedown.
Perhaps it was raining, lol, stupid Astro.
I have similar problems as well. Its unlikely that its the decoder if it still works at times. I believe its the position of the disc. Remember there were strong winds and storm of late and it could have altered the angle of your disc and a small change can have big impact on reception since Astro (most people dont realise) have short-changed the public with a under-spec size disc.
May need to call a service man rather than the useless call-center.
Ask your electrical shop or astro dealer to check out on it, or else u will be paying 1 month subcription fee for nothing.

Joshua and Jason, ohh yeah strong winds. now I remember. You see, last mon-fri totally bad or no reception at all. Then Saturday and Sunday afternoon the reception was extremely good. Bad reception or totally no reception only happened in the evening and night. Huh wonder why. I can’t check the reception on weekdays afternoon as I was working.
Also my astro status is 75 points which is good yet I can’t get any reception. Urggh…

I had a similar problem which got fixed relatively easy …
I called tech support in Astro, waited 15 minutes to get a human to answer, then I was told to switch off Astro, as in switch off the main power, leave it alone for 5 minutes like that, then power on again. Solved it.
I’m not sure if you’re having the same problem as I do. Call Astro when you have about 30 minutes of spare time (which you should, since you have no reception anyways =) )
