I have no more idea on what to blog…so let’s talk about my newly renovated bathroom.
My home’s bathroom underwent a major makeover recently. Among the changes are
1. The demolition of my favorite water tub. Favorite because I have many scary and happy memories with the water tub. I’ll spare you from the long narrative. Like modern household, we’re using a plastic tub now.
2. Replace bathroom floor tiles with new one.
Now the problem is this particular 1-man worker did a very bad job when he was laying the new tiles. My mom informed him regarding the unevenness condition but he ignores my mom. The result? There’s a large swelling at the middle of our bathroom floor. The ‘used’ water is trapped at a corner and cannot flow out into the drain hole.
So this worker came back a week later, knock down a few tiles and reconstruct it back. Now the middle floor is perfect BUT there are sharp edges near the drain hole location due to ‘outrageous’ unevenness!!!
So again this guy came back a week later, knock down a few tiles and reconstruct it back. Now everything is perfect EXCEPT that there are a few chipped tiles. My mom said “Nevermind la”.
Ohgosh I so hate it man! Everytime when my mom ask someone that she knows eg. contractor friend to help renovate our house…surely something will go wrong. Another example is our porch. Cement all cracked!
I just wanna ask you guys, do you hire people you know to renovate your house? What I think is if you hire someone you know, they will more likely to simply renovate it for you coz ‘friend-friend la’…anything anyway also can. So I prefer to hire someone I don’t know.
Boring story? There goes another day.
So Hot Baby!

I think it depends. Sometimes, when you hire ppl that we know, they will give extra/special service. And also, like your case also happens. :confused_2:
:confused_2: yeah its true in most cases, its better to hire someone you don’t know to do the job than somebody you know…i agree with you there
oh..lucky us,we also ask someone we know to do small renovation
however,it turn out not bad
be extra careful when use the bathroom :praying:
First time on your blog. Wowzers…good job I should say.
I’d never ask someone I know to do a renovation. When it comes to money, relationships are always in jeopardy.
Fellow Man Utd fan?
I’d rather hire people I don’t know, so they’re more professional going about the job.
big boss aka mum has the last say about hired hands. right now, she’s sticking with eaddie, the handyman. even if it took 2 mths for eaddie to come to our house to fix the plumbing, she’d rather wait! wait! wait! eaddie’ll do a good job, she’d say… meanwhile, improvise, she’d say… dratt!!!! :grrr: :grrr: eaddie is currently doing other projects,.. i have to use the plier to turn on my shower tap.
Hey everyone, thanks for your opinions. Guess hiring someone we don’t know is the way to go.
yup I’m a ManUtd fan. Are you?
Btw hello RyeUrn,
Dreamcatcher, ya ya mom always has the last word. Even if we have to wait a looooong time for the contractor to be free from other projects. I pity you now.
