여인의 향기 Scent Of A Woman (Korean Drama)

I watched Scent Of A Woman online along with Wild Romance recently because of Lee Dong Wook. Oh yeah he was nice to oggle at but what really capture my heart was the acting from Kim Sun Ah. She has the girl-next door look, not the attractive type when you first look at but beautiful.

Kim Sun Ah was the main lead in the famous drama My Name Is Kim Sam Soon (My Lovely Kim Sam Soon). Although I’ve no memory of watching My Name Is Kim Sam Soon but my sis insisted that we have all watched it in 2005. Thought I’ll go for this drama if I can find it online.

Okay back to this drama…

I’ve no idea what Scent Of A Woman is about initially except it’s about dying and finding one’s true love but I don’t get it why would the main lead man fall for a normal-girl-next door. Well that’s before I watch this drama. Then I get it. 🙂

Korean title: 여인의 향기
Korean romanization title: Yeoinui Hyanggi
International English title: Scent Of A Woman
Chinese Title: 女人的香氣
Running period in Korea: 23rd July 2011 to 11th September 2011
Total episodes: 16
Genre: Romance

Synopsis (source from wiki):
As a single, unmarried woman in her mid-thirties, Lee Yeon Jae (Kim Sun Ah) is meek and timid, considered a spinster by society. After spending ten years working for the same travel company owned by Kang Chul Man, she is falsely accused of stealing from a client. In addition to enduring the accusations of her superiors, she is diagnosed with gallbladder cancer with approximately six months left to live. Mustering up her courage, Yeon Jae resigns and embraces her remaining six months of life.

Embarking on her first vacation alone, she splurges on clothes and flies first-class to Okinawa, Japan, where she runs into her dream man, Kang Ji Wook (Lee Dong Wook), the son of her former boss. Ji Wook is a young rich man, cynical and lifeless, until he falls in love with Yeon Jae. Together they live out a series of misadventures, both comical and bittersweet, as Yeon Jae completes each dream in her Bucket List.

Can you kiss while riding a bike? Well, I wanna try that someday! 😉

The tango scene is really intense!

The chemistry between the 2 main leads are perfect. They look really comfortable with each other, as if they’re been doing this for a long time.

This drama is again yet another reminder to everyone… live life to the fullest without regrets. Don’t wait until it’s too late. It’s nice to have a bucket list. I have one… which half of it is written in a small notebook and the other half in my brain. LOL. I’ll make a full list someday… who knows what it will brings me!

All in all this is a really pleasant drama to watch. You’ll feel good and appreciate life more.

I don’t really dig the songs for this drama though. It was catchy…yes.

i’m back at watching my K dramas again. Am rewatching Surgeon Bong Dal Hee and will next start with Scent of A Woman. You’re absolutely right about Kim Sun Ah. She’s a brilliant actress and a very dedicated one too. In fact for Kim Sam Soon, she had actually taken the effort to put on weight just for her role. Amazing!

Ahh so she put on weight just for Kim Sam Soon, I thought that’s her natural weight years back.

Wow, I saw a Scent of a Women, my box of Kleenix couldn’t keep up with the crying I did. I loved it. I wonder if there are other movies these two came out in together. They do look like they had great chemistry together

Hi Julie, I cried too but maybe not as much as you. I think this is their only collaboration.
