I bade goodbye to my BlackBerry Curve 8520 this early August after 3 years. It was my 8th handphone and secretly I’m glad to let it go.
At first one of the side button starts to peel off, then one by one other buttons follow suit. I’m guessing it’s either my toxic sweat or the ‘rubbery’ material are worn. Since I seldom use those buttons, I was fine with it. Then the side panels made of the same material came off. And I’m still fine with it. I dropped the phone many times (Not purposely la. I’m a klutzy person) and yet the BB still function well.
Buttons missing and now all you can see is the button sensors.
This side too with eroding side panel.
To be honest, I’ve never quite seen a phone that eroded like this. Even the old Nokia doesn’t have this issue after 3 years of use. LOL
Few months back I started looking for a new handphone but I keep putting it off since BB Curve is usable. I’m not one who simply throw money at new things if the old is still functioning no matter how ugly it looks. Well, until fate took over and one final drop of the phone, make the cover un-attachable. So it made things inconvenient. And that’s when I finally said this is enough damage. HAHAHAHA!!!
Cover cannot close properly. How? Buy new phone lo. LOL
Another effect from the last drop.
28 hours later: A happily smiling me with a new smartphone in hand. π
p/s: My previous 7th handphone, a Nokia 6060 is still living happily despite its near death experience. I’m planning to pass this phone to my grandma soon.

Wah!! So this BB Curve deteriorate so fast? Yeah, I also try not to change my handphone if it’s still usable. I’m still using iPhone 3GS – but tempted to change already cos 3GS unable to play Plants vs Zombies 2. LOL! So what’s your new phone? : )
Eh that’s not a good enough reason to change. Hahaha π
I’ll blog about it in the next post.
