I finally get to watch King Kong last Friday. After a long delicious dinner with Dreamcatcher and sis at Manhattan Fish Market, we settled down and watch King Kong for 3 hours with 2 trips to the loos(sis and me)!!!
My verdict on King Kong ? I rate King Kong 6.5/10. But don’t read on if you haven’t watch King Kong.
I’m dissappointed because I can’t feel the flow/intimacy/chemistry/touch of the movie most of the time except when they all went inside the ‘lost jungle’ for an out of this world adventure with that ‘long neck’ dino and T-rex. That was when I was so nervous and my heart beats doubled. Also I felt the part where they met with the ‘locals’ was so EVIL. I will never want to encounter one ‘ulu tribe’ in my life.
At the part where Ann is trying to cheer up King Kong, I really do feel that the mighty gorilla behaves like Chester. LOL…yes there’re animal and all animals behave some what alike. I did cried a little when those ‘idiot’ planes shot King Kong but my tears dried up when he died. I don’t feel anything at all when King Kong fell down the Empire State Building.
I remember vividly that I cried the whole time when I watched the 30s King Kong version towards the end. I really think that something is amiss from the time swarms of army came in to the picture in this new King Kong version.
2 quotes that I remember clearly that day:-
Police Lieutenant : Well, Denham, the airplanes got him.
Carl Denham: Oh no, it wasn’t the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast.
Crabs also can be dangerous!!!
