I watched Wallace & Gromit: Curse of Were-Rabbit last Wednesday. What can I say ? A funny and entertaining animation genre that last for 1hr 30mins.

Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit.
“In case you didn’t know, this animation used 2.8 tons of Plasticine in 42 colors and 1000 baby-wipes per week to wipe it off animators’ fingers. Each character needed several versions to cover a range of emotions and poses. There were 43 versions of Gromit, 35 Wallaces, 16 Victor Quartermaines and 15 Lady Tottingtons, as well as 20 differently shaped mouths. A single line of dialog of only a few words could take a whole day to animate. This animation used only a considerable amout of CGI and took 5 years to make.”

Yes, this is a very special kind of animation. The movement of a single character throughout the movie were made up of hundred of shots. Each time the animator must move the character eg. hand, clothes, hair, expression etc. The end result ? You have a moving Plasticine character.
Just head to the cinema and see for yourself this amazing animation. Btw, I said Gromit is the cutest of them all while my sis said all those cute lil rabbits were the cutest. I rate this animation 7/10 just because the ending were so entertaining especially during the fighting scene between Gromit and ‘Victor’s dog’(what’s his name).

Awwwwwww

ic. quite a tough job these ppl had successfully done!! come to think of it, i guess buckteeth n rabbitteeth for characters with the most dialogues helped a lot in making the tasks easier, heh!heh! (no offense!! i’m an admirer of ronaldinho btw, ;) ) tried very hard to replace victor with ralph fiennes look… i could have liked the bad guy had i succeeded! ;P

naaahhh!!! i was awake alright, the movie was entertaining n fast pace enough. i nodded off a bit in kong n my eyes felt grainy, the storyline sorta dragged way too long (something i’m beginning to notice of jackson’s movies, i hope he’ll improve on this matter, longwindedness is a turn-off for movies, imho) so in a sense, the animation is better. i can accept the notion of a were-rabbit lots more than the fascination an ape has for a lady! :)
