Read my 2005 Melaka rendezvous here.
And now for some beautiful photos from Melaka. Sorry for the late picture post.

Charles Cham is one of my favourite artist. Click on the link(his name) to find out more about him, his art work and his famous Orangutan House. Mom and sis were looking at T-shirts.

The potrait(far away) is Tan Kim Hock. We saw him when we were in his shop. You can get stuffs like dodols, tins of garlic sweet, chili sauces, ikan bilis sambals, prawn/fish crackers, biscuits, candies, nuts, cencaluks and many more. Among the best we have tasted was the ‘tocang biscuit’. My mom bought 1 packet of ‘tocang bicscuit’ from Tan Kim Hock and the other packet made from Johor. The best one was from Johor. Very crunchy and fresh.

Nice Baba Nyonya shop cum house ya. Inside there are many treasures from the past such as paintings, vases, plates, etc.

Look nice ? But taste not nice lor.

The Kampung Kling Mosque is one of the oldest in the country (17th century). It’s a blend of Sumatran and Western architecture with a 3 tier pyramid roof, a touch of Hindu influence perhaps. The carved wooden ceiling is supported by elegant Corinthian-styled columns.Ironically we saw a Chinese character(circled in the picture)=Hei etched at one of the wall which means liveliness, prosperity and longevity.

Dreamcatcher, that why we got Baba & Nyonya and also Chetiar community there. All culture finely blended [like ais kacang] and living harmony together. We proud with our own culture, value and always respect and shows appreciation for others. Maybe, that’s the uniqueness for being truly Malaccan. Ok (over plak)… Heheheh Che-cheh gd picture anyway ;)
