I arrived at 1Utama the other day around lunch time and I nearly broke my neck because it was painfully hard for me to think of a nice and cheap place to eat there. Then I saw Nyonya Colors, some 200 metres away.

When I reached the front of the cafe, my heart was dancing with joy and my eyes were savouring the many types of Nyonya kuihs arranged right in front of me!!! Ohh wow yummmyyy yum yum. There are nasi kunyit, laksa, nasi lemak, chee cheong fun, mee rebus, desserts(cendol, ABC, bubur cha-cha), porridge, curry mee and many more. Basically they are all my favourites!
These are what we had for lunch. I had nasi kunyit + curry chicken. A++!

Because we were so full (stomach bursting boom bamm), we decided to give Nyonya Colors another visit right before we go home. We wanted to ‘tapau’ some Nyonya kuihs.
Isn’t this heaven ?

After some brief shopping at JJ and Clarks, we visited Nyonya Colors again. We bought kuih lapis, onde-onde, talam(white + green), talam keladi(white + purple), sweet potato, bingka ubi and otak-otak. All of them tasted great but the best one has got to be OTAK-OTAK. Grandma said that was the original Nyonya otak-otak(with sirih leave).
I’m gonna visit Nyonya Colors again. There are so many stuffs that I wanted to try. This is truly heaven. Oh btw I had diarrhea later in the evening. I guess it must have been due to the santan in the cendol.
Nyonya Colors is situated at F66, First Floor, 1Utama (old wing).

Ooo…I love nyonya kuihs!! Are they really-really “lemak” (rich with santan)? Some places in Kuching have got very nice ones, including some home made. Here in Sibu, they’re NOT worth the calories, taste like rubber and feels like rubber…and NOT lemak at all!!! 1 Utama, ya…ooo here I come!

HI there! Came over via Pacco’s blog. Chester is super cute! I bet his fur is really soft. Oh, we are so envious of people living in Malaysia. All that good food and good prices and large homes and vast spaces… We’re right across the border from you in our smaller homes, crazy prices and small pockets of greenery. See you around.
