Not long ago Sony endured an enormous worldwide recalls on their lithium ion batteries that were supplied to major laptop manufacturers such as Dell, Lenova & Apple. This news was widely publicized a few months back.
Unfortunately their problem does not stop there. A total of 8 models from the Cyber-shot line were recently identified to have defective LCD screen. The defective symptom is LCD image not displaying correctly due to image sensor problem. This problem happened especially in warm and humid environments (eg. Malaysia? 
).
The recall models are DSC-F88, DSC-M1, DSC-T1, DSC-T11, DSC-T3, DSC-T33, DSC-U40 and DSC-U50 models; sold worldwide between September 2003 and January 2005.
If you’d bought a Cyber-shot within the time frame stated above, please check your Cyber-shot LCD screen for any defects or if you’re not sure how please consult the nearest Sony sales and service centre.
