Have you guessed who my personal massage therapist is?
She is none other than our newly hired maid, Ati. Don’t be jealous ya because I have a personal massager and you don’t.
My grandma has been using her ‘service’ for nearly a month now. According to her, Ati is a wonderful masseuse. She massages my grandma daily (at her temple, head, body, hands and legs). Although it’s painful at times, but grandma said very syiok la!

I’m not “play-play’ing” when I addressed Ati as a massage therapist. Her father is a masseur/ ‘tukang urut’ and seriously Ati really diagnosed my prolonged sprained toes expertly. I know now why my toes need such a long time to heal. According to Ati, one of my toes’ veins went out of place. She showed me which vein and indeed that particular vein were not aligning straight with my toe. After what seems like a mind boggling time, she finally managed to right my imperfect vein (coupled with crick! crack! criak! sound). Yipppeee!!! Of course during that time I was uhh-ahhhing like hell. I also demanded a pillow…just to hug it to reduce the pain.
Note: after a massage session, it is advisable not to wet the massaged area with water (or according to Mo-Chuisle don’t expose the area to cold air/moving air) because the beneficial effect will disappear.
I’m looking forward to my next massage session (this coming weekend). Currently, my toes are still a little pain but it’s better than before massage. Oh yeah Ati also gave us a lesson or two regarding how to distinguish a broken toe, a sprain toe and a healthy toe.
Broken toe - toe will go limp.
Sprain toe – toe will be week/loose/baggy
Healthy toe – toe will be rigid/firm
So now you know eh. Don’t play-play with my maid ar.
p/s: After reading Kleio’s comment, I’m doubting my sprained toes. To see doc or not to see doc? let’s vote.
