Offloading Our Junk

It’s that time of year again for us Chinese to clean our house before the February CNY. And when you clean, you’re gonna discover lotsa stuff hidden in your cupboards/shelves.

There are many ways to get rid of your junk.
1. give it to your relatives/friends/needy
2. sell it at eBay, Lelong.com.my, etc
3. sell it at your own website (eg. my Secondhand Dogs)
4. organize a garage sale
5. simply throw it away

Since posting some of the items in Secondhand Dogs did not wave any interested buyers, we (mom and me) decided to offload some of our junk at Cash Converter.

Bamboo mat and a rectangular Chinese hand-stitched picture.

Whoa! more junk in the car’s boot. Let’s see what I load in the boot area: tiger hand-stitched picture, hamster’s maze, car seats cover, winter clothes, novels, cd, lamp, handbags, printer, hp charger and DVD stand.

Unfortunately we brought back almost half of the junk because they’re either not accepted by Cash Converter or because of the low offered price which is so uncompromising. But because we really wanted to get rid some of the items, we JUST sold it to them.

There are still loads of junk in our house. Old clothes and novels to be given away, etc but some will remain in our cupboard for another year. laughing

p/s: Say hello to the first weekend of Y2007. Yipee!

Another organisation is Freecycle (in malaysia: freecycle malaysia).. You offer things that other people may want. No charge.

Sophie, yup a shop that buys and sells used items. Basically if you have anything to sell you can visit them but please bear in mind that they offer very cheap price. Eg. handbag RM5/RM3. Of course you can go there to buy some cheap items as well.
