Tactics Used By My Dog To Get Free FOOD!

I thought I would have understood the behavior of my 3 years and 8 months old golden retriever by now but he surprises me yet again.

He’s so into ‘play dead’ trick right now that sometimes when I didn’t command him to ‘play dead’ he’ll do it for free. For that I would give him a loooooong good tummy rub since he’s upside down already.

Then I’ll go “Awwwwww…Chester, let me reward you with a cookie.”

Immediately he’ll stand up and dash to our 3rd room (where his food treasures are being kept).

I bet Chester would say out loud “Mission accomplished” if he can talk.

Then there’s time he’ll follow u everywhere. If I go to my room, he’ll stand or lie down outside my door waiting for me. If I take bath he’ll lie down near the toilet door. If I wash my hand he’ll stand behind me and so on. Somewhere that time, my mind would trigger me to give him some cookies. Of course I’m not giving him for free. He gotta perform tricks for me first.

Another one of his tactics is to lounge outside the kitchen door whenever he sees dad or me there because we are 2 vulnerable souls that would always feed him something from the kitchen. “Chester want something ar? Ok I give you lettuce. Wait ar”

Chester’s birthday is coming and I plan to bake him a cake this time. Think he’ll eat my cake?
