One day I caught him eating Fisherman’s Friends.
“Why are you eating Fisherman’s Friends? Are you unwell?”
“No. I stop smoking.”

OHMYWONDERFULGOD! This is indeed the BEST NEWS I’ve heard coming out from his mouth.
You don’t know how difficult it was to advice him to stop smoking. Every smoking fact that I inform him, he will definitely have answer excuse for it.
“Don’t you know it’s useless even if you use a cigarette filter?”
“Filter reduces TARs and nicotine ma.”
“Still no use la.”
“But then I smoke less than a pack per day ma.”
And the confrontation goes on and on.
I even put his hp welcome note “Don’t smoke ar! Coz smoking kills!!!”
You must be wondering what makes this stubborn guy give up smoking. Let’s just say that he learns to appreciate life more now. Hopefully this will not be a week or a month effort.

after discussing with his friends, dad started smoking again but ONLY a few ciggies/day. 
According to his friends, 1 or 2 of their friends died because they stopped smoking and drinking immediately. Dad said must gradually decrease smoking and not stop suddenly. LIKE THAT ALSO CAN?? Aiyoooo…

Hmm, at least he’s taking proactive steps to quit. Cutting down is also a way ;) Give him some time lor. I’m glad ur daddy is trying to cut down - Many of my friends are picking up without any regards for their own (and everyone else’s) health.
