After watching a total of 41 out of 60 episodes, I must say I’m quite impress with Sui Yuit Fung Wan aka The Drive of Life which is currently showing at Astro On Demand. This drama has all the elements you can ever dream of such as jealously, love, brotherhood, family ties, hatred, revenge, revenge and more revenge! It’s quite thrill to watch the birth of an automobile business.

This drama lacks one thing though. All the bad guy characters are not ‘pei bei’ enough (not wicked enough). I remember one particular drama in the 90s called Tai Si Toi aka The Greed of Man which in my opinion has the most wicked character (Adam Cheng aka Ding Hai!) in any TVB Cantonese drama serials. That’s the drama that brought Lau Ching Wan to fame. Even my grandma still remembers this evil Ding Hai.
Back to this drama.
Tsk, you still have time to subscribe you know because episode 1 is still on. I think you have nothing to lose because watching as many episodes as you can per day is more fun than watching 1 per day which I’m currently doing.
Ahhh how I wish this is a sponsored post for

OMG I WAS SOOOOOOO ADDICTED TO THE GREED OF MAN!!! I had a big fat crush on Ding Hau (the eldest brother who wasn’t as evil as the rest) at that time. I remember that the girl in the movie, don’t know her real name, but her name in the movie was Au Yong Hoi Chiu… she was really pretty lorh… :)

Angie Tan,
I love that ‘tai jor la’ ad. I didn’t watch “revolving doors of vengeance”. No Wah Lai Toi.
Kee Yit, I like HK drama then follows by Korean drama. Never watch Taiwan or Japanese ones before.
Dreamcatcher, yup subscribed and watching.
Saoirse, ooo nottie!
I think I’m not so addicted like you. Hehe
Hedo, hmm forgot who is Ding Hau. Must click the Tai Si Toi link to read back. Kekeke. And yes I was addicted to THE GREED OF MAN.
Valz, hi there. Getting bored? The real drama is only starting. Hahaha
Lil’d, huh really? Copy Jepun? Wow What’s the Japanese drama title that they copied from?
Jam, oh yeah that will be one of Astro’s unforgettable ad. The Star feature that guy before. I think in real life he’s a designer or something like that.

Ehehe…I’ve blogged about it before, but my wife is also a TVB fan. I have my own personal “source” for any TVB series. His nickname is “TVB KING”. So if you need any of the newer series, then let me know yeah.

Hey, you’re one of the few who still talk about The Greed of Man, I must say you have taste (:p) because it is my favorite series too!!! I was still quite small when I watched it and it impacted my life quite a bit, until now I can still remember that series (I got to watch it again in recent years). Yes, I really think Adam Cheng Siu Chow acted very well in that movie as Ding Hai, because I really hated him!! Hahaha… And oh, Vivian Chow… I liked her so much (even when I was a kid, wow, quite a something eh?). This Drive of Life, I’m just waiting for the series to be released on Wah Lai Toi, maybe… 1-2 years from now? HAha… I don’t watch much of TV nowadays anyway!

Wuching,
Nawooz, wah wah what kind of source?
Narrowband, hahaha thank you for the compliment. Lucky you to have the chance to watch it again. Oh yeah I hated Adam Cheng very much then. I can’t really remember Vivian Chow in that drama. I remembered Adam Cheng, Damien Lau, Loletta Lee and Lau Ching Wan.

I think the trend changed. People no longer want to create such bei pei character anymore. We are more civilised, well-mannered, high EQ, etc compare to a decade or two ago
