My dog, Chester is not obedient. I can tell you this whole-heartedly. But then he’s not 100% bad-mannered as well. He’s in-between. Training him has been fairly easy. He’s a smart dog. We started training him from the first day he came to live with us. Food is his weak point.
But I can tell you one thing though. He’s as stubborn as his owner (yours truly). We enrolled him for a beginner dog training course early on and he only managed to attend 2 classes because I had great difficulty controlling him. As a result of that, I decided to train him myself.
You got to have patience training a dog. If you think you couldn’t handle dog training by yourself, you can always resort to dog trainer or read up more dog training articles. Read on chicago dog trainer site where you’ll find useful information on dog training.
I think right now, Chester and me share our alpha status at 50-50. Yeah I know not a good thing. Time to toughen his training!
A successful training session with your dog relies partly on the alpha status. If your dog thinks you’re the leader of the pack, then training can be quite easy. But if your dog thinks he’s the boss, ahhh good luck! Especially if you have a very playful puppy/dog, it’ll be quite difficult. You can always tempt them with food or toys. Remember to maintain your status as the alpha ‘dog’ all the time.
