My dad has become grumpier as he aged. He’s becoming like Ah Soh 
Po pek! po pek! po pek! Can be worst than mom yo! Sometimes I can feel a negative energy surrounding me after his outburst. Some people will call it bad chi. Is everyone’s dad like that one ar?
Che-Cheh: Dad, don’t eat too many fei chu yok(fatty pork). You’ll get high cholesterol, heart attack after that and then your hands and legs cannot move… then you will be on the wheelchair. (I’m saying like this to scare him)
His reply:
AIYAH everyone will get sick when they’re old. *grumpy grumpy grumpy* Those that live & eat healthy also get sick. *more grumpy* So how?
What I’m trying to say here is no matter what we tell or advise him, he will find a reason to fight back. Hmm fight back is a strong word. Retaliate like a kiddo is more suitable. He wants to have the last word. Unfortunately I’m like him. So we have wars of words. Po pek! Po Pek! Pi Pok! Pi Pok! Most of the time I let him win because he’s just too stubborn! (like me la but I’m old enough to understand what it means to give way)
No harm is done to our father-daughter relationship. It’s just perang saudara that will be forgotten in few hours. 
Kinda fun actually!

I know how it is when I was living with my parents. Both “ngee ngee ngor ngor” til I have to close one ear all the time. But the fei chu yuk thingy, no matter how I tell them then, no effect, but now both hve high cholestral and BP, fei chu yuk, oily food and whatever deep fried all gone from their daily menu except for special festivities.

Jam, we brought him for a full body checkup last year. Doc asked him to quit smoking. He did for awhile then smoke balik.
