Gardening In The Rain

The weekend rain came at the right time. I need cool fresh air. My seedlings need fresh water from the heaven. Chester needs to play under the rain. My sprouting Nigella Persian Jewels needs a break from the hot sun.

Sadly, my compost (oh yeah *beaming proudly* I have a compost) needs warm air more than cold.

I did some gardening in the drizzle. Pulling weeds on wet soils are great.

So how’s your weekend?

Btw, someone broke into our porch and stole an old car battery. BUGGER!!! It happened in bright daylight and Chester wasn’t alerted at all.

Time is tough eh? How much is an old car battery worth?

I’m not much of a gardener at all. The very thought of soil under my finger nails nauseates me. :grrr:

Bryan, I think a little bit lor. His garden is so beautiful…who wouldn’t eh.

CC, eh nothing wrong with dirty hands what. Hehehe Do you know I use my hand(with tissue) to pick up Chester’s poo?

MonkeyWong, actually I have a small garden only. Mostly I plant my veggies & flowers in pots.

Jam, yeah. I won’t do it always. Just that the weeds in the garden has outgrow the size of the garden…hahaha. So you can imagine how much weeds there is and how difficult it is to pull ‘em out on dry season.

They steal anything they can get today. It’s outrageous!

On a brighter note, more rain today! So yay! :D

makes no difference if its cold or warm air..as long as the compost is well aerated so good bacteria can do their job in breaking down the materials into rich organic products to feed your soil. Dang cold here where I am but as long as I keep aerating my compost heap the decomposition will eventuate & I always have rich organic food to feed my soil. :rose:

MisSmall, ahh yes raining…so nice hor.

Hedo, buy him a shoe lo. Chester’s paws are too big…cannot find his size.

Wuching, oh really ar. I rarely aerate my compost. I close my compost pot with a piece of plywood most of the time. Getting a bit moist in there.

Nowadays those criminals commit the weirdest crimes. My friend’s car fuel tank cover was removed a thieves stole her petrol through it.

i dont have green fingers, but i sometimes help my home to weed, it is much easier to weed after rain when the soil is loose

The thieves stole the air conditioning’s compressor, metal pipes and pot stands from my parents’ home. Anything metal where they can sell, they take. Cilaka!!

Narrowband, aiyoo like that also can!?!

Xin, I used to think that too but after a couple of failed and successful results, I think I’m doing quite okay.

Dawn, wow oh wow. Some bugger stole my childhood tricycle years back. :crying: So sad.

I always love gardening. It’s a therapy for me. My day is incomplete if I don’t have a visit to my small garden. I love orchids and currently working on veggies.
