Meet Missy Rosemary

I have tried growing rosemary from stalks bought from hypermarket and seeds from eBay… but they were all unsuccessful until one day I chanced upon Ikano’s concourse level. There… on the floor, pots after pots of rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme… Ahh heaven!!!

Without any doubt I bought one home. According to the nursery owner, they have loads of herbs plants at Cameron Highlands. Told him I found none when I was there. He said his nursery is located after Brinchang towards Simpang Pulai. If you want to know the exact location, sorry to tell you I’ve no idea. Haha

That was 6 months ago.

My rosemary have grown a lot but it has also shown I’m gonna wilt soon sign from time to time. Scary man.

I water the herb once every 2 days. But y’all know Malaysia weather right? It can be very hot today and raining like mad the next two. This crazy weather has thrown my rosemary into a limbo (che wah now I know how to use the limbo word). Hahahaha

From the look of the picture below, you can tell it’s not doing great. Wilting sign at leaves edge.

I’m not sure whether missy rosemary is lacking water, sun or nutrient. Hai hai
It hasn’t flowered yet.

Funny I have this herb for 6 months and I’ve only used it like once or twice for pasta. *slaps forehead

Need to draw out a menu. Roast chicken perhaps?

Can you move the pot under some shade away from the direct sun? The sun could be too hot for the plant. Yes, roast chicken with rosemary or thyme….yummy! πŸ™‚

Dawn, I planted the rosemary on the ground, block by a side wall. Still I think it’s too hot. πŸ™

Told mom I want to roast chicken. She said “Mana sedap roast chicken?” Hahaha

hmm maybe need to shelter it from the harsh rain or sun so that it grows properly?

Keeyit, I know it has beneficial properties but I’m not sure either. Haha
As long as it makes my food yummy is enough. Keke

Xin, I checked on the rosemary this past 2 days… no more yellow leaves. Funny.
It’s beside a wall so it’s sheltered from the sun and rain. I read rosemary are abundance in Mediterranean areas. Which means it loves hot condition.
