CoCoNuT Bed!

I slept on my sister’s bed for 4 hard days and my back pain was cured. My poor sister has to sleep on my bed for 4 ‘miserable’ nights. Thank you for your sacrifice sis. I admit I was a fool for not realizing that my mattress is as battered as a soldier’s body. And I’m glad I discovered the truth now.

Perhaps having to go through the whole back pain scenario has its positive run. You see, I’ve had some nagging back pain (minor one) every time I sweep, mop, wash… activities that need me to bend my back. But ever since I sleep on my sister’s bed, those minor pains have gone as well… nowhere to be seen. Zlich! Okay I sounded old. Argggh!

What’s so special about her mattress? It’s made of 100% coconut fibre. This kind of mattress is HARD and SOLID. You’ll feel like you’re sleeping on a TABLE. LOL. And they’re perfect for people who suffer back pain like me. Not only that, sleeping on a coconut fibre mattress can help provide good spinal support and promote better blood circulation.

coconut fibre mattressI went hunting for a new mattress soon after and purchase Fibre Star Easy mattress, a 100% natural coconut fibre mattress (what else). They’re cheap too. Hehehe! My sis is using King Koil coconut fibre mattress. Oh btw these kind of mattress is perfect for babies as well as old people too. I’ve adjusted to sleeping on this new mattress pretty well. Though my ass hurts.

Unfortunately, yes unfortunately there’s 1 problem. I hurt my back again while carrying my new heavy mattress to the bed. So ironic eh? Its not heal yet because I didn’t sleep straight these few days. FYI, other than having a good mattress, sleeping straight and not sideway can further help heal back pain.

Umphh… try a coconut mattress today!

Great buy. I bought one of these coconut fibre bed for my son when he was still a tiny-weeny baby. My idea back then was that, if my son were to wet it… it would be easy to dry under the sun as opposed with other foam/cotton/latex mattreses  So now you don’t have to worry about wet dream lat

Yeah, the sales person told me it’s a good mattress for body posture protection. Hmmm… maybe we shud all start sleeping on the cold hard floor for a change.

I think it’s more the fact that we don’t rotate and turn our spring mattresses that is at fault.

How many people actually realise that every 6 months, you are supposed to rotate or turn the mattresses ???

I find coconut fiber mattresses a little hot. But I used to sleep on those … not too bad, I must say. Still prefer the string mattresses though …

Irenelim, hi there  Before you buy one make sure you consult your hubby first. Some people eg. my dad don’t like to sleep on hard mattress. And make sure you sleep straight.

1 more thing to comment, i never have any backache happen before for the past 4 years, so i guess it’s a good bed, if the coconut fibre doesnt stick out n hurt me…

Hcfoo, yeah you can try. The mattress brand which belongs to my sis is KingKoil. It’s a little bit expensive though. (becoz of the brand name)

Dreamcatcher, if I put a pillow it’ll be awkward coz I don’t have a thin pillow. Perhaps a blanket.

Taffo, Oh wow you must be damn HEAVY until the coconut fibre stick out like that.:skull: Hmm yeah must be a good bed. My sis coconut fibre mattress is nearly 10 years…still in good condition. Only a bit lumpy.

I once read that to avoid sleeping sideways, put a pillow/bolster underneath the knees (I should think they will be slightly bent!) – You can try dat. Didn’t work on me, haha. But I love sleeping on my tummy (face down)… It’s bad for the back but I love doing that :(

Narrowband, yeah I tried liao. Difficult! What type of pillow are you using? If you love to sleep on your tummy, soft pillow is preferable.
