I also tried it for jungle trekking and find that the traction and hold to the tanah liat and slopes were pretty good for a $15 shoe. Its hold to the slopes is better than those who wear sports shoe. From then I decided I must buy the original Crocs, because of its safety and comfort - I got the Beach, color Army Green. On eBay u can get for only USD25 delivered to a US address.
