Chester on Taste of the Wild

After the grainy-stools + frequent-pooping episodes from eating Addiction dog food, Chester is now on Taste of the Wild. I feed him this flavor: Pacific Stream Canine with Smoked Salmon. Yes you see la, dog is eating better than me. He’s almost done with the 30lbs (13.61kg) bag and I just got another bag for him recently. Same flavor. I might buy him roasted lamb next time in case he gets bored with salmon. *haha

Chester Became Poop Machine After Eating Addiction Dog Food

The title says it all. Chester has become a poop machine!…. to the point that got me worry. He now poops at least 5-6 times per day after eating Addiction Le Lamb (grain free) dog food compared to twice per day (his regular schedule). Chester has never poop so frequently in his life until now!!!

Go out at the car porch, poop once. Go take a walk, come back, poop twice. Go for a walk again, come back, poop thrice. Hahaha

Dog Food Dilemma

Chester was doing fine with Canine Caviar since May this year however the latest two bags of the 27lbs Canine Caviar kibbles from them smell funny when I unsealed the bag at home. The smell got worst as the days goes by. I threw the first bag when there’s 1/4 left. For the second bag, I discovered bugs in the bags when there’s 1/4 left. You know those bugs (called grain beetle or weevils) that infested your spices and rice? Ya that kind.

The bugs discovery was made when I placed the bag upside down. I was just changing the direction of the bag. Who knows I would make such finding. Horror! This means Chester’s been eating bug infested kibbles. Argggh!!! The distributor agreed and have already given me replacement. This happened a week ago.

Left: Canine Caviar replacement
Right: Chester’s new dog food which has higher protein %

Chester on Canine Caviar

After the Innova pet food recall in early May this year, I searched high and low for a brand new dog food for Chester. One criteria for the dog food is it must have low protein so that it will not burden his kidney since he’s such a couch potato and two, dog food that’s age-suitable for my ah pek dog (read: senior). In Malaysia, Klang Valley to be precised, no matter where I go ask for the senior pet food, all I get from pet shops are ‘We don’t carry senior dog food’ and ‘Just take the adult dog food, they are suitable for senior too’. If you really understand dog food, you’ll know that that’s not true.

Thanks to my sis’ friend recommendation I finally found a better dog food for my golden. Chester has been on Canine Cavaiar for a month plus now and I can see drastic changes on him. What first attracted me to Canine Caviar is that they are the only alkaline-based dog food in America. If you don’t know what alkaline-based food is, well cancer thrive on acid-based food like meats. Therefore eating alkaline food can reduce cancer risk. Alkaline food are like vegetables, fruits, nuts, tofu, etc. I, myself have been trying to eat more alkaline-based food.

Rock Ya Doggie

My dog loves his blanket and anak (teddy bear) very much. How do I know?

Well, he humps his blanket a lot. Hahaha (sort of saying I ya, blankie!)
And he brings me his blanket (which is so cute btw) and anak when he wants to play tug-of-war with them.

That’s how I tuck him to sleep ‘almost’ every night.
Especially on rainy nights.
