Herbs Hunting & Plants Photos @ Sungai Buloh

If you have no idea where to buy potted herbs in Klang Valley, you’ve come to the right place. I can give you a tip or two on herbs hunting in Sungai Buloh. My 1st visit to Sungai Buloh after many many years ago happened last August. That time I found a nursery at Lot 43 that sells all kinds of herbs. It was quite a hunt back then because I stopped at quite a few nurseries along Jalan Sungai Buloh without any results until I almost gave up.

Fast forward 2 weeks ago, I visited Sungai Buloh again hunting for a new rosemary plant (since mine died quite a while ago). This time I knew where to go since I did my homework online. My plan was to visit Yeap Nursery which I heard sell rosemary and other herbs as well. If that fails then only I’ll visit Lot 43. Reason is I wanted to find more herbs selling nursery and because it’s fun. It’s like striking gold. Haha

Update: 2nd Feb 2014 – I visited Sungai Buloh yesterday. Yeap Nursery no longer sell herbs. The good news is its neighbor is selling herbs. Facing Yeap Nursery, the nursery on the right sells herbs like oregano, thyme, rosemary, bay leaves, parsely, etc. I think its called Sister Nursery.

Yeap Nursery is located just in front of Sungai Buloh Hospital (not directly). And when I finally found that place… wah la… I realized the nurseries I visited along Jalan Sungai Buloh wasn’t the ‘real ones’. These nurseries here in front of the hospital is the real deal. The fact that it’s near to Sungai Buloh Leprosy Control Center and also my mom finally confirmed this place was the one we visited many years ago. HAPPY! HAPPY!

After we found Yeap Nursery (with yellow signage), I mistakenly went to the neighboring nursery (facing Yeap on the left). It was there that I saw and bought a Roselle plant.

Buying Herbs @ Sungai Buloh

So what was our mission going to Sungai Buloh? Buying herbs!

A friend recommended a nursery to us that also sell herbs. It didn’t take long to locate the place as the ‘Herbal Garden’ signage is just by the road. We did stopped at a few other nurseries just to have a look-see. But we bought everything including some other plants from this nursery. Easy ma.

Flowers & Plants @ Selangor Green Lane, Sungai Buloh

Earlier this week, I went to Sungai Buloh for an intended mission (will tell more later). If you do not know, Sungai Buloh is a haven for flowers and plants lovers. Those nurseries at Sungai Buloh used to be handled by leoprasy patients. I’m not sure about now though. And I just found out Jalan Sungai Buloh (old trunk road) where the nurseries are operating is also known as Selangor Green Lane. The operators are currently in a tussle with Yayasan Selangor. I just hope the nurseries will still be there come 20, 30 years… after all they are unique to Sungai Buloh and Selangor.

I haven’t been to that area for quite some time and due to some road changes, I ended up lost. Oh yeah, I took the Guthrie highway and then ended up in KL, Jalan Duta and then from Kepong to Sungai Buloh back. LOL To think that I used to go there a lot during my younger days… *smacks forehead* We missed the turning to Jalan Sungai Buloh at Jalan Kuala Selangor (I swear the Sungai Buloh sign were missing!) When we left Sungai Buloh, I make sure I take note of the turning so that we know the direction next time. It’s tricky. The road sign didn’t say Sungai Buloh but to some residential areas I think (best bet is Kampung Melayu Subang). Years back, we took the old Subang Airport road.

Okay enough talking. Please enjoy the photos below…
I think I have more plants than flowers photos as I was attracted to the soothing greens.
