Few weeks back I went with the family to Fo Guang Shan – Dong Zen Temple at Jenjarom. I’m sure some of you must have heard about Fo Guang Shan as this temple attract lots of visitors during Chinese New Year for their beautiful lanterns. I never visited this temple during CNY because I hate crowds. π
We spent a leisurely 1 hour there with only about 4-5 groups of people. Basically we own that place! Hahaha
Kuan Yin Statue at the entrance of Fo Guang Shan.
Beautiful garden with 18 Arhats (aka Louhon).
So many snails! They’re below one of the Arhat statue.
Grottoes art of Buddha and other deities.
The beautiful Zen garden.
Good-looking rocks at Zen Garden.
Me!
The main Buddha shrine. The inside is so beautiful with arts at both side of the walls depicting Buddaha’s journey.
Deers at Sarnath Garden. I was so surprised to see ’em at a Buddhist temple.
My sis told me deer have something to do with Buddaha. A little of research later: Sarnath is the deer park where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma. ~ Source Wiki
Nice arches made of wires, fake leaves and recycled water bottles.
We also visited the art gallery and Buddha’s relic shrine.
A village house. The roosters are fake. Hehe
A cute bird house beside the ‘kampung’ house.
Beautiful flower.
Lumbini garden. So serene.
Willow tree! Soon I’ll get to see more. Hehe
These kois at the Lumbini pond must be really hungry.
They came after me. See ’em swimming towards me?
And now they’re going towards my mom and sis. Haha
We finish the visit right on time just when the rain is starting to fall. Overall Fo Guang Shan is an interesting temple with plenty to see. In my opinion, the Lumbini garden is a good place to think about life.
If you live in Jenjarom, feel free to go exercise at this temple. The park here have special exercise equipment.

Great set of photos. What a great opportunity to photograph this area while there were so few people around!
Thanks Kelven. π
I’ve visited this temple before but it was too crowded! OK, maybe I should visit it during non peak season, but then again, it’s simply too far!
If you think it’s a holiday… then not far lor. You can also try the seafood restaurant at Morib here: http://messywitchen.com/dining/malaysia/tanjung-sepat/seafood-asam-batu-laut-restaurant-tanjung-sepat/
Lovely photos. The garden looks very serene and relaxing.
Nice place, looks so serenely calm and quiet! Hey, do you register a team in this season Fantasy Premier League? Send me an invitation code to join Inception
A nice place to enjoy with family. π
I didn’t register for a Fantasy team this season. Unbelievable right? I was once a super football addict. Somehow someway last year… my football addiction suddenly wane off. I still follow ManUtd news but I rarely see them play now. Blame my Korean addiction. Haha
Tranquil….a place to contemplate about life….a retreat to the soul π Nice pics.
Thanks Dawn. Miss ya. π
