Hiya! I’m back from my short break and I’m still dead tired. Nevertheless blogging will resume. Yipppe! Ohh btw, I’m on leave today. 👿 My legs and abdomens are killing me fast… helpppp
Sister and me woke up around 4.45am on a Sunday morning. Why? Remember I told you guys that we’re going for the PJ Half Marathon run? So here we are, with our running numbers pinned at the front and back of our ‘PJ Half Marathon 2006’ tee. Yes I have no problem getting up because I slept the whole of my Saturday. Genius hor? Actually half marathon is a 21km run. So in actual we are running ‘quarter marathon’ only.
We were flagged off at 6.40am (still dark) and it seems that my legs were still sleeping. Every small step is like dragging someone with my legs. Think about this, we didn’t do any pre race preparation (only badminton and jazzercise-2 wks ago). We only stretch our legs 10 minutes before being flagged off. Thankfully my legs wake up a little later on. We jog a little and walk and jog a little and walk till the end of the race. We managed to passed by a numbers of runner though we’re from the ‘last’ groups.
As the race progressed, my spirit was in full bloom. I ran faster and at times leaving my sister behind… hehehe. The weather was great and sadly enough I inhaled lots of fume (along federal highway)… yuck but I also inhaled lots of fresh air (from the housing area)… ahhhhh
We finished the race at 1 hour 36 minutes. Not bad at all! That was the time we approximated. Come to think of this… 1 hours 36 minutes = 96 minutes which is 9.6 minutes per km. Sis said “hey, that’s about 10 minutes of walk from house to school”. Tsskk our house to school distance is around 1km. Okay I admit we walk more than we jog.
What did I achieved? Free Milo!!! Ohh my favourite Miloooo. We didn’t know what position we’re at… who cares anyway. I’m so proud of myself to have completed this race without any ‘injury’… touch wood. I challenge myself for the impossible that was to complete the 10km run and I did it!!! Btw, do you know that the best Milo you can ever get on this earth is not from the tin or packet? It’s from this van. Whenever I see this van, my heart just melts away.
Ohh and this is the goodies we received prior to the race. I’ve got 2 California Fitness ‘7 day guest’ passes and I don’t plan to use it. That’s because the pass is valid for all hours in 7 CONSECUTIVE days. If anyone of you are interested, I’ll be happy to mail it to you. Among the goodies I received, I love the small Tabasco sauce bottle the most (on left side of Vochelle)… so cute.
Sis said “Let’s join this marathon again next year. I’ll be targeting around 1 hour 20 minutes”. And I just LOL. She’s right anyway.
