New Vet & New Food For Chester

To renew dog license in my town, we have to show latest proof of dog vaccination for that fiscal year. No vaccine, no dog license. All dog licenses will expire on December. New one starts in January.

Chester’s vaccination appointment has always been on January. So getting him his vaccine jab & dog license all in January is a wonderful thing. Everything kau tim on the same day.

We went to a new vet this time. This new vet asked me why Chester is so nervous. I told him Chester had a couple of ‘horrible’ surgeries at his previous vet.

I like this new vet and her shop. It’s spacious, clean & not smelly. According to this doctor, she adopts US vet concept by making the place spacious for dogs to roam.

I think Chester love this place too. Already after vaccination, he roamed the place, smelling here and there, occasionally barked at the dog handler, even lie down pig-style in the middle of the shop, smiling ever so cutely and oh… the 2nd most embarrassing thing (after humping) Chester has done to me is peed right in front of the vet’s main door. I guess he’s leaving his scent (saying hello) and marking his territory.

I’m really surprised when the dog handler told us Chester’s weight is 32.4kg. Wow!!! His weight had always maintain at 30kg. Must be all the CNY cookies I bribe feed him.

I also take the opportunity to change Chester’s regular food (kibbles). He’s been eating Natural Balance for quite sometime (and previously Eagle Pack Holistic Select). Dog food price has increased to over RM200 for 13kg/15kg packet for holistic & premium quality dog food.

Chester is currently eating AvoDerm lamb & brown rice meal. Price is cheaper by RM40!!! It’s not holistic for sure. What’s so special about AvoDerm is that it contains avocado which gives the dog a healthy skin & coat. It’s also rich in anti-oxidant to improve immune system & contains highly digestible formula (result in fewer stool).

I’ve only been feeding him AvoDerm a week. Still mixing with old kibbles. Will update if this brand is effective. Another reason I changed his dog food is because I see that Natural Balance tends to leave his teeth more yellowish. Coloring perhaps. Ewwww!

Important thing is Chester love this new food. It smells of avocado. MmMmmmm πŸ™‚

Wahhh! Your new licence a bit stylo-milo ah? Hey, you know what’s weird? So many people on the internet say that avocado is dangerous & kill the dog but then again, AvoDerm has avocado in it. Really weird! Really cannot trust some jokers on the internet. Anybody can say anything. Many have also said broccoli kills. BOL!!!
