Chester, Chitty Chatty

What Does He Mean By That?

I’ve a scary encounter yesterday evening.

It was around 7.30pm. Sky was dark. Chester & me were in the porch. He had just finished his ‘business’ & I was cleaning it up. Was watering the plants when suddenly a motorcycle driven by an Indian guy came near us.

I thought he’s the newspaper man. I asked “Newspaper ka?” Thought he wanted to collect newspaper money. By then Chester was barking madly & loudly. Oh he hates motorcycle. Learned that from Wow-Wow That guy didn’t hear what I said because Chester’s madness has drowned my voice.

Then I heard him asking me this “Sudah bayar bunga ka?”

I heard him sure but I acted confused, asking him back “Apa?”

He repeated but this time I didn’t hear what he said because Chester is WOOFING even louder. He seems very agitated by the barking.

Then he drove nearer to Chester and… and… spit at Chester. #*@&^%!#

CILAKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND THIS

P*KI MAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(mind my language; beh tahan woi)

Oh my poor dog.

Luckily that guy then drove away. I quickly clean Chester’s face (dunno kena or not… just clean lo) and wash up the floor & go inside.

So what do you think this guy meant? What does he want from me?

I guess he’s asking me for $$$. Bunga as in interest as in $$$.

This guy is around early 20s, not shabby looking. Not the kind that you would expect asking for $$. Hmmm… but then after some thinking I thought I saw him before. Maybe. Maybe not. Because there’s always this bunch of Indian guys at one end of the road. I noticed them when walking Chester.

In the house I said to Chester,
“Well, you saved me again! (because of your barking & your ‘hate thingy’ towards motorcycles hahaha)”

And ohh I must say thank you to Wow-Wow too.

So how now brown cow? No evening walk for Chester & me now? Better be cautious for awhile I guess.

p/s: Once we had a Chinese man coming to our gate asking for $$. I don’t know the whole story… dad didn’t told us. He just asked us to be careful.

Oh my gosh…Hey, you guys better be careful especially if there are no men(besides Chester) living with you guys. Yeah, I’m pretty sure he was asking for money. But the fact that he spat at Chester & called both of you names in Chinese, it’s a sign that he can be potentially dangerous. Be sure that Chester is not left in the porch unattended eventhough you’re at home but in the house. I always make sure I watch my dogs. Be sure your main gate is locked too if nobody;s in the porch. There are cases where men just walk right straight in in broad daylight & dognap or kill pet dogs. Hopefully your house is not in a private area. Ours is kinda like in a private area but luckily ours is not the end lot. But it tends to get a little quiet here by 1 in the morning. Just last week, a groomer that we know, her house just got robbed. She owns show dog cocker spaniels, about four of them & they were barking like mad but the old lady, her husband & their maid were a sleep. This occurred at 3a.m. So when she woke & came downstairs to see what’s going on, something hit the back of her head. About 4 indon guys were already inside the house. They hit her with a parang. The maid came down & shield her with her body but the guys were whacking her with the parang continuously. The whole house was full of blood. The husband was still asleep. The men then brought them two back upstairs & tied all three of them in the room while they robbed the house. Meanwhile, the dogs were still barking & then suddenly, they heard a big yelp from one of their Alpha females. And all was silent. Few hours later, the next morning, the police arrived & the lady found her dog with a big gash right on the dog’s head. Fortunately, no one died including the dogs. They were just badly hurt. The dog is still recovering but is doing okay. They were very very lucky. The mens’ intentions were not to really kill them. They just wanted to rob the house. Do you know this black magic spell that most Indonesians use which is, they would ***t in your house & you all will sleep & will not even hear or notice anything happening while you’re sleeping. Incredibly, it also affects the dogs. You’re just in a deep deep sleep & in the next morning you’ll realize that you’re tied up. Probably these 4 men didn’t use the spell & it didn’t work well because the dogs were awake. So just be extra careful.

Goodness. The guy probably came to the wrong house but it is scary enough to wonder what else can these folks do. Glad that Chester was out there with you. Is it legal to buy pepper spray in Malaysia? If you can, you may want to carry it with you at all times. Becareful.

That’s weird! I say be careful. Last year, my friend’s dog died from being poisoned. And she still did not know who would want to do that to her dog!

    Wah liaoooo…..

My neighbourhood had the security thingy and they just setup shop. However, they are quite professional as they have proper uniform and etc.

Better becareful… I think sooner or later, we have to equip ourselves like Rambo just to go out for a walk. :worried

Amber-Mae, hi thanks for the long write up. What a scary story but thank God they’re all okay. Yes we’ll be careful. I’m always on the look out now.

Dawn, I think we can buy them at Guardian.

Foongpc, I think I read that blogger’s story. Not sure it’s the same.

    Jason, yes most probably.

Angie Tan, even with gated ‘security’ community, there’s no 100% guarantee we can have zero crime. What more with the current economy. Hai.

Definitely someone who’s up to no good. Whatever it is, it’s a sign of danger. Luckily Chester was with you! Becareful when you go out next time, at least bring Chester along if you need to go out!

    “Sudah bayar bunga?”
What flowers you bought and haven’t pay? 😎

No, I guess must be careful no matter what. Nowadays, a lot of criminals happen everywhere.

As long as you bring together with Chester, will be good enough. Am I right?

  • Reply Che-Cheh April 27, 2009 at 2:41 pm

Annant, take a photo of your giant-ass lah. I’m very curious.

Xin & Keeyit, I’m more worry of Chester than me. So all in all I only bring Chester out if it’s necessary.

We can fetch anything! Whatever my Mommy asks us to fetch, we will do it. Chloe always fetches the groceries from the car & bring it all the way inside to the kitchen, place them on the floor & go out again & fetch another one. She fetches light ones & even heavy ones too. Once, she also fetched wood planks & PVC poles! She’s a natural where else I am not too keen at it so most of the time I’m forced to. Hee! In case you don’t know, British/European Goldens like Chloe & Carmen(just as long they are cream colored Goldens) are natural at retrieving where else American Goldens(like Chester & me) are not. I’m not a natural retriever! I was taught how to fetch. Chloe was not taught how to do it at all, she just does it on her own & she always has something in her mouth all the time be it a teddy bear or some piece of rubbish she picks up on the floor as a present for my hoomans. BOL!
