DENTIST!!! (Part 1)

From small, I’ve always hate going to the dentist. I hate it when my milk teeth were on the process of falling off. Goyang… goyang… (shaking). Plus I always had ‘teeth falling off’ nightmare when I was young. Kekeke

When Hedo blogged about her dentist rendezvous early March, I had just found out that something is not right with my teeth.

One day I was enjoying my lovely noodle when suddenly I felt a stingy pain in my mouth lower left area. Later on I felt another pain at my upper right area as well. I thought it was just heaty (yit hei). But deng deng deng… Alas I found that I have 2 decaying teeth. So sad. Yes so sad because my teeth has never been ‘tampal’/had filling before. Can say healthy la.

A couple of days before reading Hedo’s dentist post, I had a nightmare. My nightmare was I found one of my tooth is loose. Talk about dream becoming reality… Aiy!!! (almost)

I waited until now, yes May to pluck up my courage. Actually I’m not brave at all. Just so happened my grandma’s denture have a problem & I invited her to go to the dentist together. But I chickened out when I was there. I did consulted the dentist to hear what he’s going to do to my teeth. That was on Tuesday.

Yesterday I went with my sis. Before going, I was again very very very nervous. Don’t you find the sight & sound of sickle, pick & grinder very very terrifying??? I know I’m nervous because of uncertain future (what will happen on the dentist chair, will I wail in pain?, not the sickening zzzzz ‘music’ again, etc). I know my worry mind is concentrating on the future.

This is what calmed me down:

Focus your attention on the Now and tell me what problem you have at this moment.
~from The Power of Now

Simple words but very deep meaning.

My answer: I’ve no problem now.

My nervousness subside very quickly. It didn’t disappear but it’s at a low ‘nervous’ level. This is what happened if you’re a worrier like me. Hmm…

Anyway the dentist visit went pretty well. He didn’t clean my teeth, that will be another visit. He only cleaned one of my tarter half-full tooth (very bad according to him), apply medicine & close it with a temporary filling. Will visit him again next week for him to put the permanent filling. Also I have another bad tooth which will be performed another time as well. So I guess maybe I need to visit him 3 or 4 times in total. Hmm I wonder is this how they ‘drill’ money from us? Thank God the procedure only cost me RM30. Btw I can only bite my food at my right side. Food will be tasteless. πŸ™

I’m looking forward to my next visit actually.

Oh that’s a lied. I just hope everything will be back to normal quickly.

When the dentist was cleaning my tartar filled tooth, I thought I heard him said “I need to saw your teeth sometime later”. HORROR!!! I forgot to ask him to repeat that sentence. Imagine that is true!

Wah you never had fillings done on your teeth before? That’s damn good. I don’t mind going to the dentist, I guess, thanks to my mom who religiously takes us to the dentist every year for checkups plus the trips to the govt dentist when in Primary school. I think it’s not “saw” la, if he can save it, why want to saw? He meant “see” gua?

I have to see dentist once every year. To have a regular check up. So far my teeth are ok, but as you said, visit to a dentist is horrifying!

I am not afraid to go to see dentist for extraction. But I am afraid to see dentist for filling… Maybe because of the sound.. Hahaha…

The word “dentist” already makes me shiver. I never really went to a dentist before. The dentist came to me. Yeah LOL! I was 7 years old then & these dentists came to my school to give a free teeth check up & stuff & many kids had their toothies drilled & filled including mine! Oh my god! The pain was unbearable when it was getting drilled but I just held my tears in. Because you know lah… When it comes to kids & dentists, the dentists will scold the kids & tease them for crying or tell them to shut up. The filling wasn’t so bad. It tasted quite nice. Haha!

How come everyone seems to visit dentist regularly except me? Is it really necessary? My teeth are in good condition, never have tooth decay before in my life. Even when small, I pulled out my own baby teeth without dentist’s help. I also brush my teeth twice daily.

Look! My teeth are so nice. Let me smile for you! πŸ˜€

Foongpc, it can only mean one thing. You’re an exceptional brusher. πŸ˜€ Of course it is necessary to visit dentist regularly. But for your case maybe not. Haha Why don’t you give the dentist a visit. See what he comment on your teeth.
