Moorim, Splash Splash Love & One Sunny Day

Let’s talk Korean drama. I started 2016 with Moorim School and The Merchant: Gaekju 2015 (continuation from last year). Then Descendants Of The Sun came (I’ll blog about it when the show is/near over) and shook the earth with its popularity like no other Korean dramas has done before in this modern digital era where high ratings are almost impossible to achieve. Along the way I sneaked in two very short dramas. Here are my views on them:

Moorim School
Moorim School: Saga of the Brave ๋ฌด๋ฆผํ•™๊ต

Moorim is a school that teaches you about humanity and also fighting skills (they looked like a bunch of gangster when they fight hahaha). Well, that’s what I deduced after completing this drama. Yup, I completed it… with willing heart. ๐Ÿ™‚ Lots of people complained about Moorim; storyline and the actors. Honestly, I find the story to be quite compelling. I learned some life lessons from this drama. As for the actors, they were mostly green and acting flaws were aplenty. I wasn’t really put-off by it. Take that as a learning curve my dear Moorim School’s casts. However, Lee Hyun Woo as a sunbae, your acting were quite lackluster. Please do better in your next drama.

Splash Splash Love
Splash Splash Love ํ๋‹นํ๋‹น LOVE

It’s about a girl student who is transported to Joseon era after jumping into a puddle of rain. Yup! Now you know why the title has splash splash. ๐Ÿ’ฆ The reason I watch this drama was because of Kim Seul Gi. I became her fan in Discovery of Love. Second reason was because this drama is only 2 episodes (2 hours) ! Win-win for me. I wasn’t looking forward to Yoon Doo Joon here. Unexpectedly my fondness grew on him during this drama. LOL. I don’t really like the parting scene (opps!) because their difference in sizes are very apparent here. Some scenes are also predictable, still it was fun and interesting to watch. Recommended.

One Sunny Day
One Sunny Day ์ข‹์€ ๋‚

One Sunny Day is about a heartbroken man meeting a girl in the beautiful Jeju Island. It started well and by the mid of it I regretted I even started. Sure it starred So Ji Sub and Kim Ji Won. Acting were meh especially from So Ji Sub (yeah what a let down man) and I disliked Kim Ji Won’s character. In short, the guy is emotionless while the girl exerts too much emotion until at one point it feels el cheapo. I blame it on poor writing. Thankfully this is only a 120 minutes web drama (10 episodes with 12 minutes each). Don’t waste your time here.

In case you’re wondering… I’m not proud that I completed this drama. *thumps my chest ๊ฐ€์Šด to release unsatisfying anger
