부활 Resurrection (Korean Drama)

I’ve seen Uhm Tae Woong in 1 Night 2 Days (variety show) with a shy and dorky character but never in drama-land. So can you imagined my surprise when I saw his acting in his latest drama: Man From The Equator (currently showing in KBS)? Oh man he’s good. And that was what brought me to a few busy weeks of catching up with his fame 2005 drama called Resurrection.

Yup this drama is almost 7 years old and yet the story is not old school. This is an interesting mind-twisting-revenge-drama. And Uhm Tae Woong is excellent here! Resurrection was his first lead in a drama.

Synopsis (source from KBS):
The main character of the series is portrayed by Um Tae Woong, who acts in double role. He plays twins — Seo Ha Eun, a detective, and Yoo Shin Hyuk, the scion of a family-owned conglomerate — who were separated due to a childhood mishap. Ha Eun first learns that he has a twin brother while investigating his father’s mysterious death. The two finally chance across each other, but their father’s murderers mistake Shin Hyuk for Ha Eun and kill him. Afterwards, Ha Eun disguises himself as Shin-hyuk to avenge his brother.

Uhm Tae Woong as Seo Ha Eun (Yu Gang Hyuk)

Alternate synopsis:
Yu Gang Hyuk was only 7 years old when his father was murdered in a car “accident” and separated from his identical twin, Yu Shin Hyuk. He forgot his name and family and given the name Seo Ha Eun by his adopted father Seo Jae Soo. He falls in love with his adopted sister, Eun Ha and tried to be very honorable about it. He was led to become a cop because of his father’s badge. While investigating an alleged case of suicide, he eventually learns of his twin brother. Against the warnings of his peers, Ha Eun becomes more and more involved in this suspicious case. As a part of a larger scheme, Ha Eun is targeted for a hit by unknown individuals. And when Ha Eun and Shin Hyuk finally meet for the first time after twenty years, the murderers kill Shin Hyuk accidentally mistaken him for Ha Eun. As a result, Ha Eun vows to get revenge by giving his enemies psychological torture and takes on his brother’s persona as an undercover cop and that is where the drama begins… This is a wonderful detective drama with a psychological twist.

He plays double role; as Yu Gang Hyuk and Yu Shin Hyuk.

I really like the girls in all the K-dramas you have write up on. They are so beautiful – to die for porcelain complexion!

Oh yes, I do that to my dogs too, all three of them. 🙂
