Continuation from yesterday’s post on Handphones Down Memory Lane. A reminiscence of my ALL 6 previous handphones.
Next, I decided to fork out some $$ to get another handphone so I bought a new handphone (7th handphone since… umphhh 2000) last weekend. No no nothing to cheer about. It is just a low end model with no camera, no bluetooth, no 3G, no USB… no whatsoever ‘changgih’ techno. I figured I wanted a simple handphone because all I ever use for is calling and receiving calls and messages plus I already have a digi cam ma. But for my next handphone I plan to own a 3.5G or 4G handphone with those state of the art technology. Which means it will take quite a while la since 3.5G and above are not available here yet.
I drool on a clamshell handphone for so long now and yes I’ve got a clamshell handphone. It’s NOKIA 6060 baby! This original handphone cost me RM450. It’s has a sleek stylish black body with a classy chrome finish and a pulsating LED display during incoming or missed calls and messages. Overall I’m satisfied with the simple functions, nice and comfortable buttons and navigation keys.
However I find that during calling and receiving calls, loud hissing noise can be heard at the earpiece and especially at the loudspeaker. I tried to change for a new set of handphone with the shop but they’ve got no more stock. So it’s either I change to another handphone or stick with this one. After more than an hour of deliberation, I decided to stick with this one. Mainly because I really like the design and because I don’t want to pay extra $$ to upgrade to another better handphone say NOKIA 6101 (another clamshell handphone but with camera function) which thankfully dosen’t have loud hissing noise at the loudspeaker but there is noise on the earpiece as well… but then I will need to fork out an extra RM300 if I were to upgrade to that model. Also another problem is I have my eyes on clamshell handphone only. Not into candy bar handphone at the mo. So here I am with my NOKIA 6060. π
p/s: I checked this phone review at gsmarena… huh they were complaining about the hissing noise too.
This is the 2nd handphone that I like after NOKIA 8250. Love it, love it baby… ahhh
I will keep the old NOKIA 3210 safe and sound. This is going to be an antique man!
Umphh in conclusion I’ve use 7 handphones in 5 years… damn ‘keng’!!!
pp/s: Chester who is my personal alarm clock failed to ‘bark me up’ yesterday and today because my new handphone alarm has different tone now. π

I’ve never had a thing for clamshell phones – although the very first I had was one (the Motorola brick).
Still, nice phone you’ve got there ..
Simple and nice design.
I have been a Nokia supporter since 7 years ago I think. My first one is Nokia Banana phone. π I got a 3210 too but someone stolen it in 2002.

Hi, nice to meet you.
I thought 6101 was the first or second flip phones by Nokia. Guess I was wrong. Will read you review.
I like clamshells too, but am currently using Nokia 8310. And I have a Nokia 3210 too! π
Pelf, hello thanks for dropping by. Wah wah celek! I guess 3210 must be one of Nokia’s bestseller.

Nokia_fan_club_982, hi there.
I think 6060 don’t have USB port. There is only 1 port for charging. π
Your antique nokia survived a great deal man!
