Earlier this week, I went to Sungai Buloh for an intended mission (will tell more later). If you do not know, Sungai Buloh is a haven for flowers and plants lovers. Those nurseries at Sungai Buloh used to be handled by leoprasy patients. I’m not sure about now though. And I just found out Jalan Sungai Buloh (old trunk road) where the nurseries are operating is also known as Selangor Green Lane. The operators are currently in a tussle with Yayasan Selangor. I just hope the nurseries will still be there come 20, 30 years… after all they are unique to Sungai Buloh and Selangor.
I haven’t been to that area for quite some time and due to some road changes, I ended up lost. Oh yeah, I took the Guthrie highway and then ended up in KL, Jalan Duta and then from Kepong to Sungai Buloh back. LOL To think that I used to go there a lot during my younger days… *smacks forehead* We missed the turning to Jalan Sungai Buloh at Jalan Kuala Selangor (I swear the Sungai Buloh sign were missing!) When we left Sungai Buloh, I make sure I take note of the turning so that we know the direction next time. Itβs tricky. The road sign didnβt say Sungai Buloh but to some residential areas I think (best bet is Kampung Melayu Subang). Years back, we took the old Subang Airport road.

Beautiful Koi fishes in a pond. The mermaid sat above a stone beside the pond on the lookout for her lover. Hehe This koi photo is one of my favorite – the combination of ‘sparkling’ water wave and the koi fishes. That place was really beautiful. I saw the ‘no photography’ signage after that hence I keep my camera. I’m a good girl huh?
Magenta hibiscus. This is no ordinary hibiscus.
It’s larger than my 2 hands put together. Saw this species in the nursery near my house too. When I first saw it, my lower jaw dropped to the ground. Haha

p/s: I remember there used to be a lot more nurseries. Now only a handful.

I think I’ll visit Sungai Buloh again just before CNY. The nurseries will be choked full of colorful flowers.
The koi fish picture is indeed pretty. Those ceramic pots reminds me of my parents, always buys them in various sizes when we go to the nurseries.
I like shopping for pots. Nowadays they have so many varieties. Particularly love pots in blue. Haha

I remember my parents used to go Sg Buloh to buy plants too, but nowadays there are a lot of nurseries that open nearby our housing area.
Yeah near my house have 2 nurseries, further a little 2 more. Not many reason to go Sungai Buloh lo except once in a blue moon.

Hi, just to find out if you notice any of the nurseries carry Blueberry or Grape plant? One of my mother’s friend bought one each from one of the nursery (l forgot to ask which one π ). I would like to surprise my mum with the plants. I would have drop by myself if l lived nearer (have to cross an ocean to get there). Much appreciation for any info π

Hi there. I remembered how great it feels liked to be in nature or friend’s garden and bring that memories back home with a good piece of lens in your hand. Like your photos. I think the name of the flower you asking for is called Trailing Mediterranean Vinca (Cantharanthus Roseus.) Didnt know Sg Buluh nurseries has cullinary herbs. Which one is that? It has been ages. Thankyou again and would like to hear more of your sg buluh garden news and see more herbs photos. One day i must go there!
