As a collector of many things (read: paper bags, stamps, boxes, bottles), I was so happy to learn about the limited edition heritage canisters offered by Shell; to commemorates its 125th anniversary in Malaysia. Problem was I learned about this promotion 2 weeks late. Surely the canisters from the weeks before has been snatched up, right? Nope. I was wrong. There were plenty left. Seems like no one wanted to collect these beautiful heritage canisters.
Unlike last year’s Lego Shell collection promotion which were such a hit (those Lego were sold out on the day it was released), I saw plenty of heritage canisters sitting at the Shell stations. I also basically didn’t need to show my proof of purchase of RM40 of Shell fuels to buy those big canisters. That’s how unpopular they are.
My limited edition Shell heritage canisters. Aren’t they lovely?
The Big Shell heritage canisters (at the back) showcase the Shell station look of 1920s, 1950s, 1960s, 1980s (from left to right). RM12.90 each. Each canister come with a Shell logo magnet from that particular year.
The Mini Shell heritage canisters (middle) showcase the Shell pumps of 1920s, 1950s, 1960s, 1980s. RM7.90 each. And they come with a Shell logo keychain from that particular year.
The complimentary magnet and keychain were nice surprises. No photos as I forgot to snap them and now I’m really lazy. Hehe. I didn’t get the Shell Helix Car Care Kits set though. It was too big and I was running out of space to keep them and I want to save $$. Haha
Shell tanker model. Come with a small Shell towel packed in the canister.
Top view of the canisters. I remember being fascinated by the different clamp Shell logos when I was growing up. So owning these now is such a delight. 🙂
❤️💝 I personally love these more than my Shell Lego. Sure the latter can fetch you lots of money in years to come if you sell it off, however as a box collector (sounds so weird) these canisters are the BEST. 👍
