Hong Kong Day 1: Airport Express, Thematic Lantern Exhibition & Heritage 1881

Warning: Overloaded with pictures. 🙂

Prologue

I went to Hong Kong during the last few days of Chinese New Year this year. This was my 2nd visit to Hong Kong. What can I say? This place still rocks! Though I have to say there’s 1 big difference I experienced now from 3 years plus ago. Especially in Tsim Sha Tsui area, I was mistaken as a tourist from China because every time I want to order or pay my food/stuff, they would speak to me in Mandarin first. WTH??? Thank God every thing was good elsewhere. If not I would scream man! I no longer feel like I belong there (which I said I once was)

This 6 days 5 nights vacation is sort of a flashpacking trip in terms of accommodation and mode of transportation. Though it’s a 6 days 5 nights trip, we actually only have 4 full days. Our arrival was late evening while our departure from Hong Kong was early morning. Food wise I found some new and good ones and also got a little disappointed from the ones I re-visited. My main aim in Hong Kong this time is to visit one of my childhood dream place and sample more Hong Kong food! So come now, follow me on the joy ride. 🙂

Our AirAsia flight to Hong Kong was 30 minutes late (biasa la ya). The flight duration from Malaysia to Hong Kong is 3 hours 50 minutes. I got my ticket for RM400 return/pax (inclusive of everything; flight, airport tax, 2 meals, pick a seat & the stupid convenience fee).

This was my first time stepping into Hong Kong International Airport. In my previous HK trip, I flew to Macau first and then later took a ferry to HK.

Note: Post is overload with photos.

We had our last yummy Hong Kong breakfast at Caritas Bianchi Lodge before proceeding to Kong Chung Ferry Terminal, Kowloon. We arrived at the terminal 8.30am but aiyo we can only get hold of 10.30am seats. That also is deluxe class ticket priced at HK$212 pax. All the early economy tickets (HK$137) had been sold out.

Paying for deluxe class ticket means we’re sited on the upper deck, get free newspaper and brunch!

Hong Kong Day 5: More Shopping & Yummy Food

Hong Kong fun trip: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4.

This is our last full day in Hong Kong. So what better ways to enjoy our LAST day than shopping!!!

We visited Tanka Sport Outlet at Kaiser Estate Phase II, Hung Hom. This outlet sells low-priced clothes and merchandise from Adidas and some other brands like Timberland and Reebok. Unfortunately we’re not allowed to try on the clothes. I bought a 3/4 inch trousers for RM40 (normal price ~RM150).

Hong Kong Day 4: Shopping, Avenue Of Stars & Temple Street

Note: Fully loaded with photos!

If you miss my HK trip fun read it here: Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.

Our first shopping stop is the ESPRIT outlet located at Hankow Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

This is the place to go for EPSRIT bargain clothing. For e.g. a normal ESPRIT tee will cost about RM100 in Malaysia but only RM40 at this outlet. Trousers which normally cost between RM200~RM300 in Malaysia, cost below RM100 in this outlet. So you say cheap or not leh? They’re cheap because they’re out of season clothes. I don’t care as long as it’s comfortable.

Hong Kong Day 3: Hong Kong Disneyland

Note: Post overloaded with photos!

Read Day 1 and Day 2 HK fun here.

Going to Hong Kong Disneyland is pretty easy. Since this ‘Happy Place’ is situated in Lantau Island, we can choose between ferry and MTR. We took MTR from Yau Ma Tei to Disneyland Resort Line with 2 interchange stations in between.
