Shanghai travelogue so far:
Shanghai Day 1: MAS again, Maglev Train, The Bund & Becoming Zombie!
Shanghai Day 2: City God Temple, Zig Zag Bridge at Yu Garden & Xintiandi (Part 1)
After visiting Xintiandi (新天地), we went back to the bus stop to wait for the City Sightseeing Bus again. However we got down at the wrong stop and had to wait for the next bus. Then later on the bus went idle for nearly 30 minutes which is a good thing because we get to rest in the bus. Not much talking because we were all so tired. Our destination is dinner near Pearl Oriental Tower which you can read about here: Ajisen Ramen (tsk it’s fast food! LOL).
Just beside the tower is Lujiazui Pedestrian Bridge which is a large circle shaped bridge. You can view some of the towers and buildings in Lujiazui financial district on this bridge. There are a couple of entries and exits points on this bridge.

The vaguly visible Jin Mao Tower (right) and Shanghai World Financial Center SWFC (left). I wonder why they don’t lit up SWFC with more bright colors after all it’s the 2nd tallest building in Shanghai.

Then we head to Lujiazui Metro. The underground metro reminds me of Hong Kong.
Metro coming. Let’s go! Our stop is Nanjing East Road metro.

These are like mini trains which will bring you from one end of Nanjing Road to the other end. Bear in mind Nanjing Road is very LONG! We didn’t try this.
Waited patiently for the friend shopper and once done, we walked to The Bund.

Yes the buildings are pretty but I’m not intrigued by the lights. I think my mood were spoiled by the previous activity.

Food stalls set up at night near our hotel. I don’t dare to try as my friend said they use oil from the drain. I checked the stinky tofu oil from the seller and indeed the oil is so dark in color. Yuck.
We stopped by at the Family Mart to buy breads. We have a big journey the next day.

The bridge is round in shape. Very big. You can google and see how big it is. I think 2 of my friends went to the tower before, as for me and sis… don’t feel like going.

For me I think I only walked 1/4 of Nanjing Road. Yeah I agree the 2nd last photo is awesome. Thanks to my sis. 🙂
Really meh they use oil from the drain?!!! Find it hard to believe but then again, this is China so I guess anything is possible! LOL.
I find it hard to believe too. That’s why my friend try to avoid eating Shanghai food. Fast food aje wor. But then fast food is also unhealthy. I dunno la. LOL.
My mom and I walked 1/2 of Nanjing Rd….in fact we got bored. My mom wanted to take me to The Bund at night but the stupid construction prevented us to see anything. I do love the colonial buildings lit up. We didn’t get to visit the OPT, just from a far. My mom said nothing special about the tower. Instead we went for the Hangpu river cruise.
What attracted me to Nanjing Road is not clothing shops… instead those local food shops. Haha I think OPT looks better from far. 🙂 I didn’t take any Huangpu cruise because a few of my friends did it before. Sobs!
