Yes, I Cut My Own Hair!

Sorry for the long silence. I didn’t fall out of love with blogging. But because I run out of ideas on what to write. πŸ˜› Anyway, I’m back!

I was tweeting about cutting my own hair today and suddenly got the lightbulb πŸ’‘ moment. Why not talk more about it on the blog?

So, what got me into cutting my own hair? I used to have very rough and frizzy hair. No matter what style the hairdressers styled on me, my hair always turns out ugly. I’d even one hairdresser condemning my hair because of the rough and frizzy hair (of course, I never went back). Since it’s always the same case of ugliness, I suddenly got tempted to cut my own hair. Not because I think I can cut better (far from it) but because it’ll still turn out the same ugly and the bonuses are I’ll gain experience and save $$.

In the blink of an eye, I’ve been cutting my own hair for over a decade. I visited the hairdresser very rarely now because they still don’t get my hair right even when my hair is now soft and smooth (I changed my food consumption to meat-based and almost zero processed food & carbs for a while). I get a lot of nagging from my late grandma and mom due to cutting my own hair. At one time, my grandma even wanted to give me money so that I can visit the hairdresser to have my hair cut. Unfortunately, it’s not about the $$ but the thrill. The thrill that I can cut my own hair!!!

I remember sometimes I would offer my late grandma a haircut but she always said no. πŸ˜… But there were 1-2 desperate times where she had to accept her granddaughter’s offering. The after-haircut always ended with her saying “Boh sui” (not nice). Sometimes, she would ask me whether I went to the hairdresser or cut the hair myself. She would say “Boh sui” when I told her I cut it myself. When she was in not-so-good condition, I cut her hair one final time. I asked her “Sui boh?” (Nice?). This time she said “Eh sai!” (can do) and I was so proud.

I also cut Chester’s fur (especially the fur around his feet) when he was alive. He wasn’t a fan of it but at least he behaved just a teeny weeny bit better than when it’s ka chen kak time. Ahh the fond memory.

In my life, I’ve only cut grandma’s hair, Chester’s fur and my own hair. I won’t stop cutting my own hair and I look forward to cutting more people’s hair. Hahahaha

Have you cut your own hair before? If yes, come share your experience. If no, tell me why.
