Flowering Kumquat Tree

Ok, first of all, I’m not sure what type of a citrus tree is this but I suspect it’s a kumquat. Please enlighten me if you know.

Flowering Kumquat Tree

My mom bought a kumquat tree early this year for Chinese New Year. Immediately, I told her I would take care of it because I know she’s not much into gardening plus she would spew nonsense towards it even before the tree has a chance to adapt into our environment. 😂 You see, a majority of my mom’s conversation is about negativity. I do correct her and encourage her to talk about positive things but I guess it’s hard to change people.

Hong Kong Day 2: Victoria Peak Garden, Shopping & Sai Ying Pun

Check out Hong Kong Day 1: HKIA, First Airbnb & Duk Ling if you haven’t.

Woke up around 7am plus on day 2. Had cheese bread bought from the previous day for brekkie. By the time we’re ready to rock, it’s nearly 9am.

By the way, we checked the weather forecast and noted that there will be rain on Tuesday onward (day 3). We planned for an outdoor activity on day 3, and because of the forecast rain, we changed it to day 2 which is today.

We took MTR to Central station, and from there walked to The Peak Tram Lower Terminus at Garden Road. Yup, we’re visiting Victoria Peak aka The Peak again (my second time) but this time we’re doing something different. We’re visiting Victoria Peak Garden. I bet most of you haven’t heard about this place before.

Bank Of China Tower @ Central, Hong Kong
If you’d watched HK TVB dramas from a long time ago, I’m sure you’re able to recognize this building which regularly appears in TVB dramas. This is Bank of China Tower. We passed by it on the way to The Peak Tram Lower Terminus.

Year Of Dog 2018 @ Kuan Yin Temple, Klang

Kong Hei Fatt Choy!!!
Woof woof wooF!!! 🐕🐶

I did something record-breaking today. I visited my favorite local Kuan Yin Temple (known as Kuan Yin Teng in Hokkien) on 1st day of CNY, which is really really rare! Hahaha Even after countless of visits, I always find this temple extremely beautiful. Tucked at the corner of a busy and famous roundabout in Klang town, Kuan Yin Teng is the place to find peace and calmness. So glad I have this piece of treasure in my hometown. In fact, in just under 1km radius, there are 1 mosque, 1 surau, 2 Indian temples and 2 churches as well. God, I love my town!

I took my DSLR with me, knowing I will always find many things that charm me there. Allow me to share my snaps with you all.

Prayer’s lotus candles. Love the angle. The evening sun were quite harsh. I have to tone down the saturation.

Year Of Rooster 2017 @ Kuan Yin Temple, Klang

Happy Chinese kok kok kok New Year!

I’m not too late in wishing you all, right? Fact is I didn’t have CNY mood a week ago. But today, I’m super excited. Maybe because we’re celebrating Jade Emperor’s birthday midnight tonight and I will get to eat tonnes of angku kueh. Hehe

I visited the century old Kuan Yin temple in Klang today. Here are some photos which I took at the temple:

Incense Sticks @ Kuan Yin Temple, Klang
Incense sticks or joss sticks. When you have extra stick(s), put it here. I never understand why the temple never provide the exact number of sticks. There’s always extra one or two. Hmm…

Revisited: Kuan Yin Temple, Setapak

I visited Kuan Yin Temple at Setapak in KL with my family on 3rd day of Chinese New Year this year. This time my grandma tagged along. *happy* I also had my DSLR with me. I snapped some photos of the temple surrounding while my mom and grandma were busy talking with the monk. Check ’em out below. I also did a photography session on this temple three years ago. Feel free to check it out here.

A pair of mandarin orange trees at the temple entrance. Don’t be wowed by the large oranges. They don’t belong to the trees. Haha
