So In Love with Crocs

Have you heard about Crocs shoe? Some might think that it’s the fugliest looking shoe ever and some will consider ’em to be the most brilliant shoe ever built (haha maybe I exaggerated). I was first a former and now a latter.

I first laid my eyes on Crocs shoe a few years back when I was shopping at 1Utama. My first impression? Blehhh, so hideous. Would never ever own this ‘ugly’ shoe. Period. That was how I think then. And now? Now I love Crocs till-death-do-us-part.

Come let me tell you the story on how I felt in love with Crocs.

One day, out of the blue dad came home from holiday with a pair of ‘FAKE’ black Crocs. It was my dads’ but it became my mom’s favourite shoe quickly. She can be seen wearing Crocs almost all the time. She would chatter on and on and on about how light and comfortable Crocs is. And of course she is our family’s first Crocs lover.

Just out of curiosity I decided to try my dad’s Crocs. What is so great about ‘the ugly shoe’ that all the testimonials I read at Crocs’s website are all positive reviews? I became a Crocs lover instantly the moment I slipped my feet into the comfortable sole. It’s so light weight and soft. It feels as if you’re not wearing a shoe! I know this is just a replica but it’s good enough to change my view on Crocs shoe.

So now I’m looking forward to purchase my first ‘original’ Crocs. These are the 3 designs that I like; The Beach, The Professional and The Endeavour. I favour The Professional as this model has closed-top protection (not as many holes as The Beach) and it has port holes at the side (compared to The Endeavour which has none) for water and sand to pass through.

The Beach, the original Crocs model.
Available in 16 colors.

The Professional.
Available in 5 colors.

The Endeavour.
Available in 9 colors.

Here are the Top 10 Reasons Why You Gotta Have Crocs In Your Life:
(taken from Crocs’ website)

1. Really soft, super comfortable, molds to your feet
2. Barely there, weighing only 6 ounces (~170g)
3. Vented so air passes through, keeping feet cool
4. Non-marking slip-resistant soles
5. Bacteria and odor resistant
6. Ultra-hip Italian styling
7. Port holes allow water and sand to pass through
8. Can be sterilized in water and bleach
9. Easy maintenance, just wipe clean
10. Orthotic molded foot bed for ultimate comfort and support

Ohh btw, you can wear socks with a Crocs if you’re feeling cold feet. Hehehe

If you’re still having your doubt on Crocs, let me tell you this: Crocs is a multi-purpose shoe. You can wear ’em be it at work, in play or for health purpose.

I first tried the Asadi Crocs and found them very comfortable. I also tried it for jungle trekking and find that the traction and hold to the tanah liat and slopes were pretty good for a $15 shoe. Its hold to the slopes is better than those who wear sports shoe. From then I decided I must buy the original Crocs, because of its safety and comfort – I got the Beach, color Army Green. On eBay u can get for only USD25 delivered to a US address. I have friend there who is coming for holiday in KL – so I save about RM39.

O Malley, hello 🙂 wow even Asadi’s one is that good? At least now I know that I’ve not bought the wrong shoe for my KK trip. Great for you that you have friend in the US.

:star: I have a pair of hot pink (fake) Crocs, and they’re just wonderful! So light, soft, and airy as in breathable.
