Near Catastrophe!

We escaped unharmed except mom who has 2 small marks on her right face. They’re scratches from a broken glass. Thank GOD!

Mom had a nightmare dream on that very morning. I had a ‘feel-not-good-feeling’ all the way there. I thought something is going to happen to Chester but NO it was something that happened to my family and me.

Here’s the story…

We’re on our way to Digital Mall, PJ. As usual Section 14 is jam-packed with cars. I pointed to dad a place for him to stop the car so that mom, sis and me can get down. It’s a place beside Digital Mall (opposite of the old Jaya building) where there’s a row of motorcycles parking bays.

Just when the 3 of us are opening our car doors, we heard something crashing down with tiny pieces of debris knocking on our car roof. It was too late for mom. She got out and quickly run to a safe place. Dad wanted to open the door and see what’s happening.

Sis & me shouted “CLOSE THE DOOR DAD! DON’T OPEN!!! DRIVE AWAY QUICKLY AH!!!!

But you know what? Dad still wanted to open the door. Aiyoo!

We told him something else might fall again, so it’s better to drive to a safe place. Thankfully he listen this time. Dad drove a few meters down the road.

The loud crash has caused some small crowd gathering. Everyone was looking up. There were glass pieces on the sidewalk and a big metal window frame between two parked motorcycles!

Someone’s condo’s window frame has fallen off. FYI, on top of Digital Mall lies a condominium unit.

The front windscreen of my car need to be replaced. $$ GONE!!! Thankfully the window frame didn’t hit at our car. Surely the damage will be more severed! Aiyoo… Thankfully too the motorcycles owners are not there.

What a place to be eh to be so close to catastrophe. God must be watching us. Oh Ma Ne Pan De Ohm.

    Gosh!!!

Sigh… See-lah, we don’t have proper building codes in M’sia to protect people from such mishaps.

Anyway, thank goodness that your mom is ok. Better to lose a bit of $$$ for the windscreen than to have a member of your family admitted to the hospital.. :worried

wah.. sounds so terribly but am glad that you and your family got out of this relatively unharmed :whew: . God, Buddha, Ganesh and Allah must all have been watching out for you and your family. Praise to all of them. :praying:

OMG! Luckily you guys all escaped unharmed. :whew:
This reminds me of something similar that happened at my husband’s company’s building last year. A panel of glass at the foyer came crashing down due to strong winds. Scary! Luckily no one was harmed too. What’s more, a few weeks later, a panel of window fallen from the 7th floor. Nowadays I ask him to quickly run out of the building if there’s strong winds. Dangerous!

Glad no one was hurt badly. “Na Mo Oh Li Toh Fatt”, “Praise the Lord”! :praying:

Don’t your car insurance pay for the windshield replacement?

Gosh!! That place is so dangerous! They really need to look into this case! Someone could have been killed!! I go to Digital Mall too but now I am afraid liao! Must make a big case out of this! I hope you didn’t have to fork out the repair cost for ur car. It wasn’t even ur fault!

    Hi All,
Unfortunately I didn’t buy windscreen insurance, so cannot claim. Asked Toyota the repair fee and they said about RM1.1k :silly:

Plus we didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. If wanna claim with the condo-owner need to go see them, make a police report, blah blah blah… it’s like draining our energy. So we choose the easy way out but $$ quenching way.
