Easy DIY Eco-Enzyme At Home

What is eco-enzyme? Eco-enzyme is a multipurpose fermented solution by fermenting kitchen scraps with brown sugar and water. Eco-enzyme is also known as garbage enzyme and cleaning enzyme. It has many applications such as multi-purpose household cleaner (from cleaning your clothes to the toilet bowl!), plant fertilizer, pond purifier and many more. With the idea of turning kitchen scraps into useful eco-enzyme and saving money at the same time, I was sold!

After procrastinating for a long time, I finally started the project in 2019 but failed very early on. The Mandarin orange peels that I was collecting during Chinese New Year (CNY) became moldy in room temperature after a few weeks. The right way is to freeze the peels until you’re ready to start the fermenting.

My 2020

Woah what a year! Instead of fear, I hope everyone is vibrating in higher consciousness and emanating love. For love ❤️ is the opposite of fear. I think 2020 is quite a good year for me. Time moves in a smooth manner as in it didn’t feel too fast or too slow. Ngam-ngam!

In March, Malaysia went into lockdown together with some countries due to a contagious virus. Fast forward 9 months later, we are still restricted but with looser & ever-changing SOPs. Like everyone else, I was worried and afraid but only initially. My fear lasted for about 2-3 weeks. Once I woke up to the truth, everything changes. I tried helping by sharing on social media. Many must have thought this girl is nuts. Don’t care, I still share. You see, once you see it, you can’t unsee it and you want everyone else to see it too!

Limiting Our House’s WiFi

Update 31st Dec 2020: My WiFi router is now set to switch off at 12am until 5.30am. Woot! We now sleep before 12am or just a little over 12am.

Update 4th Mar 2022: Our WiFi router is now off between 12am and 6.30am. It’s been going on for some time.

Update 7th Aug 2022: Since upgrading our WiFi from Streamyx to Unifi back in May, we still maintain our WiFi off schedule that is between 12am and 6.30am.

In my previous post, I talked about how I ditched my handphone’s alarm for a real alarm clock as a step to reduce my contact with EMF radiation. As the title of this post says it all, I will be sharing with you how I limit my house’s WiFi with only a small verbal protest from the family.

Our old routine involved operating the WiFi from morning until the wee hours. It bothered me that we expose ourself to the waves for over 18 hours a day. Thankfully, our WiFi router is usually switched off before going to sleep. Many of my neighbors have their routers churning for 24 hours non-stop.

Embracing Alarm Clock Again

Long long ago, I ditched my bed alarm clock for the handphone’s alarm clock. I’m sure you all know how convenient it is using the handphone to surf the internet, play games, listen to music, chatting, messaging, read e-books, etc all from the comfort of your bed. I spent so much time on the handphone that I began sleeping later and later in the night. When I sleep, my handphone would be beside my head or on the floor below my head while the network blast on. For years this was how I spent my bedtime.

After learning more and more about electromagnetic radiation although I’ve heard about it many times before and how we human is an electric being, I seriously start putting the handphone on aeroplane mode when I sleep. I couldn’t power off the handphone because the alarm on my current Nokia 6 wouldn’t work if I switch off the handphone.
